CHRIST-KING CATHOLIC SCHOOL
April 2023
Faith Moment
In each Monday Morning Liturgy, students learned about 2 different Catholic Social Teachings, and we even got to put them into practice! This Lent, CKCS sponsored a sister school, Chandarau Primary School in Tanzania. Over Lent, the JH students planned, organized and ran many events to fundraise! In total, CKCS has been able to raise about $1600 so far! We will be keeping online donations open until the end of April for any that would still like to give at: https://chalice.ca/chandarua-primary-school - our team name is Christ-King Catholic School, Stettler, AB.
We also included many of our annual events through Lent and Holy Week including Shrove Tuesday with pancakes, our Ash Wednesday celebration, Day of Confession with Father Roger, our Whole School Stations of the Cross, Palm Sunday celebration, and our Good Friday Last Supper reenactment led by our Grade 2 & 9 students.
Although we left school on Thursday thinking about the seemingly sad ending to Jesus' story, so much can happen in just 3 days! We cannot wait to welcome the Easter season at CKCS on Tuesday!

Spirit Days
At CKCS, we have a Spirit Day every other Friday. A theme is set and students are invited to dress up to show their school spirit. It is completely optional and not mandatory! Often we add to the fun by changing up our school bells etc. to match the theme!

School Council plays a very vital role at Christ-King. They fundraise to provide events for our students, they organize hot lunches, staff appreciation and so many other activities. Since they do so many things for our school, it does take volunteer power. Please consider coming! We know life gets busy so you do not need to attend every meeting, nor are you expected to volunteer for every event in the year. Please just help out as you can!
Thank You School Council!
School Council has determined they would like to support a Faith goal, a Physical Education goal and a Mental Health goal for our students this year.
School Council will be paying to bring in:
-Mini Legends (K-6)
-Snowshoeing (7-9)
-Face2Face (K-9)
-Motivational Magic (K-9)
The above guest speakers and activities will help support the goals of School Council!
Thank you very much for your continued support! CKCS would not be able to provide all that we do without School Council!
