Fourth Quarter Curriculum
In reading, we have begun our testing unit. We will be reading various passages and using many strategies to closely read the text. Students will be working to recognize various question types in reading. I feel that being able to identify what the question is asking them enables students to find the correct answer more effectively.
In math, we are working on our last few weeks of measurement. Students will be measuring angles using protractors, measuring angles in reference to circles, and finding missing angle measurements based on known angles. We will be doing a lot of center work to practice new content and review previously learned standards. I have taken each individual students lowest math standards and made a Google Drive table that gives them the standard as well and activities to do to receive more practice. This will always be one center in our daily math practice. If you would like more practice regarding these math standards please let me know!
In science we will be exploring force and motion. Students will be engaged in hands on activities that allow them to really understand these concepts. Then, we will be finishing up science with a study of animal adaptations. Students will understand the concepts of variation and relatedness and how animals have adapted to thrive in certain environments.
We are finishing up our study of economics in North Carolina. Students created awesome business plans, ask to see them!
