Night of the Arts

The second and fourth grade students did a great job with their music program! They sounded wonderful and spread a great message of showing good character. All of their artwork looked fantastic! They put a lot of time and effort into showing off their talents in both Music and Art! We look forward to watching their progress in the coming years and doing more Night of the Arts in the future!

4th Grade Field Trip

The 4th graders had a great time at Sprenger Stadium watching the Lake Erie Crushers! Our very own Annabella Naticchioni had the chance to start the game by yelling out those famous words, "PLAY BALL!"

This year sure has been fun if you were a member of STEAM Club! Third and Fourth graders had the opportunity to participate in one or more of the three sessions that took place throughout the year after school with Mrs. Bowman and Mrs. Milluzzi. We did a lot of amazing things like a paper chain challenge, towers that could hold an apple, buildings that are “earthquake” proof, stop motion animation, and coding. Our final session had students building boats that could float, hold cargo (marbles), and complete an obstacle course. STEAM Club students rose to any challenge that was put before them. If you have a student going into third or fourth grade next year be sure to look for the registration brochures as we prepare for each STEAM Club session.

Copopa Young Authors

This year students from Mrs. Bowman’s third and fourth grade Reading Enrichment class participated in the Lorain County Education Service Centers Young Author Competition. Students spent many months writing, revising, adjusting, editing, illustrating, and publishing their books in our classroom. On May 15th we traveled to Lorain County Community College to attend the Young Authors Conference. At the conference, we listened to two amazing speakers artist, songwriter, and singer Jim Gill and author Michelle Houts. Mr. Gill taught us how to use your life as an inspiration for a song. Mrs. Houts taught us how her life inspired her novels and how authors get their books published. The culminating event was hearing our best of show nominees from grades three and four. A best of show artist and writer are selected and our representatives this year are Grace Jeffers (grade 3 writer), Jessica Jacobs (grade 3 illustrator), Ira Lavinder (grade 4 writer), and Carerra Cordero (grade 4 illustrator).Congratulations to all of our authors on using their creativity and imaginations to create amazing stories for us all to enjoy. Keep writing!
