Moms - Mark your Calendars!

On Monday, May 11, First Grade will be hosting our Muffins with Mom breakfast from 8-8:30AM in the FSA Cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your child and hear how much you mean to them. You will be receiving an invitation from your child in their folders. Please RSVP to me at by Thursday, May 7th so we can have an accurate count for food. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!

Help the Destination Imagination Team!

Mrs. Millar and her students have come up with a few VERY creative fundraising ideas to raise money to go their Destination Imagination competition. Luckily, we have some super supportive administration members ready and willing to (literally) offer themselves up to help! Send your first grader in with a few dollars next week and they can buy...

  • The chance to spray Mrs. Campbell with a full water gun for just $5
  • A piece of duct tape to attach Mr. Sener to a wall for $1
  • A raffle ticket for the chance to win a basket of goodies for $2
  • The opportunity to splatter paint at the last blast carnival for $5

Get Ready for Summer Reading!

Summer Reading is right around the corner! We will be sending out lists soon with order forms in case you'd like to purchase the books for summer reading. FSA is partnered with a local bookstore, and every book purchased will allow for a portion of the proceeds to help build the FSA Library.

Order your School Supplies by May 15th!

Avoid crazy back to school supply shopping and order your child's school supplies from School Kidz! Everything your child needs for a successful 2nd grade year has been hand-picked for you already. Return your order form by May 11th to the front office,

or Visit: and enter Account Number: 95955.

Donuts with Dad was a Huge Success!

We LOVED having all of our dads and grandfathers come in for a special breakfast with their kids! It was wonderful to see our kids interact with their dads. They were able to do an interview activity together, eat breakfast, and give them their gifts. Our students worked so hard on getting things ready for their fathers, and we were so happy we could honor the awesome dads of first grade!

Coming Up Next Week...

We will be wrapping up our final unit in Reading Street! We will review how to use an encyclopedia, prepositions and prepositional phrases, prefixes un- and re-, long O and I, and realistic fiction.
Our spelling quiz will be on Wednesday, May 6!
Spelling Words: answered, carry, poor, different, unhappy, refill, untie, undo, repay, unkind, undress, retell, reopen, rewind

On Friday, we will have our final Benchmark Assessments to see how far students have come in their Reading and Language Arts. This will be a great way to see what students can work on over the summer to prepare for second grade!
