PRE-K 3 NEWS!
JUAN DIEGO ACADEMY MARCH 15, 2016
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a wonderful week in the middle of March. We are ready to welcome SPRING! We are celebrating St Patrick’s Day ( Thursday March 17th), and because it is a Mass Day, the kids are only allowed to wear green tops. They may wear them with jeans or uniform pants. No other green attire like hats, face paint, hair color, etc. is allowed.
We are also preparing our Easter Celebration. We are requesting that you to send some wrapped candies like chocolate kisses to put into the plastic eggs that we are preparing for them. If you want to participate by sending some candies, you can start doing that this week. Please keep in mind that we celebrate our Easter Week this coming week so candies need to start coming in on Monday if possible.
If you still have not given to us the Monthly survey, please send it ASAP. Remember it must be included in your son’s/daughter’s file.
This week we are learning about St. Patrick and we have some special activities to do. We will need each child to bring a green bell pepper tomorrow or on Thursday (The day for our activity).
We really appreciate all your help and support.
This Friday March 18th, there is NO SCHOOL! ALL teachers we are going to St. Charles for our Professional Day.
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING THIS WEEK:
This week we are learning about the letter “Q”, “q” and some words that we can write with the letter “Q”, “q”. We now are writing our names daily . Parents if you can be supportive with them by helping them practice writing their names at home, it would be greatly appreciated.
We are counting and recognizing the numbers from 1 to 5 including the symbol and quantity. The children are also tracing the numbers. At home, they can hear some numbers songs on” You Tube” (Counting from 1 to 20), the song of the colors and the geometrical shapes. We do these songs daily in class.
This week we are introducing the St. Patrick story working with some fun activities. Parents please ask them about it and discuss it at home. This whole month we are learning more about Lent and the sacrifices of Jesus for all of us. We are also learning about the Palm Sunday with some videos and we made a beautiful work of Art for this Celebration that is displayed in our classroom.
Parents please have a great rest of the week.
We are very proud of your children and they are doing some awesome work.
If you have any question, please let us know.
God Bless you,
Ms. Marseille and Ms. Sonia
