Engaging, Relevant, Personal
As you know, the district’s new catchphrase is: Engaging, Relevant, Personal. Here is a good blog post concerning why personalized learning is important for students (http://esheninger.blogspot.com/2015/09/why-personalize.html ). The author references a working defintion for what personalized learning might look like (http://www.edweek.org/ew/collections/personalized-learning-special-report-2014/a-working-definition.html ). Notice the learner profile column!
**PTA is in a position to provide some teacher wish list items. Please keep in mind the items you put on your list need to support our district/building focus of guided and fluent reading. Many of you have expressed an interest in book sets. If you want to put grade levels together we can look into buying a package with several book titles from one of our vendors. Please create a wish list and place it in my mailbox. I will review lists for greatest need and alignment with building focus. Lists need to be turned in by next Friday, Oct. 2nd.
