WinterFest is Almost Here!!!
Attention Students:
On December 19th, we will be running a different bell schedule to allow our Knights in Good Standing to attend WinterFest for the last hour of the day. Students in good standing will have the opportunity to partake in some pre-holiday fun, games, and relaxation. Students, pay attention to your email next week for additional information.
The 9-Weeks and Semester is Almost Over
Students, both the 2nd 9-weeks and 1st semester are coming to a close. NOW is the time to get any missing work completed. Please connect with your teachers is you have any questions or concerns.

Attention Seniors: FINAL EXTENSION for GROUP PRICING
This message is to notify you of the EXTENDED deadline to order Custom School Announcements as well as Cap and Gown For graduation. The absolute FINAL date to order Spotsylvania High School Custom School Announcements and cap and gown unit for Graduation from Jostens, our preferred provider, is December 15th, 2023. THE FINAL IN SCHOOL ORDER DATE for the Jostens Representative to be on hand to help you order will be Wednesday, December 13th During ALL Lunches.
Ordering by December 13th in school or no later than the 15th online, ensures that you will receive the Official announcements for the school and the group rate pricing for the cap and gown products.
Note- Jostens met with the senior class in September and they provided each senior with a packet that included a catalog on all of the senior products they have to offer as well as an order form. The easiest way to order these items, however, is by using Jostens.com. Please take a few minutes to review the attached order form which includes ordering/payment options. Jostens has also included a picture of our custom announcement and a link to order directly on the Spotsylvania HS page on the Jostens website. Boys State Application Due January 17th
Applications are now being accepted for Boys State. Boys State is a mock government program held at Radford University from June 16th-June 22nd. Students who attend are assigned to a mock political party and a city where they set up their own government. They learn the duties and responsibilities of the offices of which they are elected. Please visit this website for more detailed information.
Students interested in participating must complete the application form by Wednesday, January 17th. Please see Ms. Yahl in the counseling center to pick up an application. Those selected will then participate in an interview with an official from the American Legion as the next step in the selection process. Please contact Ms. Yahl at ayahl@spotsylvania.k12.va.us with additional questions.
Upcoming Events
SHS Annual Financial Aid Workshop
All parents and students who are graduating in 2024 are invited to attend Spotsy High's Annual Financial Aid Workshop this Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 PM in the downstairs computer lab. Valuable information will be shared regarding financial aid, student loans, and scholarships. Some students MAY be eligible for $7,395 in grant money from the federal government that does not have to be repaid in addition to state, local, and institutional money that is gift aid (grants.) The 2024-25 FAFSA application needs to be completed by your school(s) priority filing deadline to be considered for the federal, state, and institution money. Please be sure to pick up your flyer from your Government teacher with all the information outlined. Registration is not required. SHS Athletics
Pass Information
Tickets for all Home Athletic Events are available in advance at gofan.co for $7. Tickets can be purchased at the gate via Credit Card for $7. All Cash Tickets at the gate are $8.
Senior Citizens over the age of 65 are eligible for a Lifetime Battlefield District pass, gaining them entry into ALL Battlefield District Regular Season events. Show proof of age at the gate and get yours at any SHS event.
Ten Event Passes go on sale Monday during lunch shifts and will be available at the gate for all SHS Home games. Ten Event passes are $65 and are good for all Regular Season Home Events.
Student Athletic Passes go on sale Monday during lunch shifts! Student passes are good for every SHS, regular season athletic contests, for the duration of the school year. Just $50, grab yours soon!
It's Game Time!!
Reminder to all fans attending Athletic Events at SHS. It is Battlefield District policy that no bags are to be brought into any event. Exceptions for small, clutch purses (5" x 7"), medical equipment bags, and diaper bags for families with small children. No outside food or drink is permitted inside the gates, as well. Spotsylvania County Schools also prohibit pets on campus, which includes at our indoor or outdoor athletic events. We also ask that for the safety of all patrons, balls of any kind or other outside sporting equipment be left at home and not thrown, kicked, or batted around within the confines at Athletic events. Thank you for your support!
