Welcome to December!!
December is a quality month to GO HARD the first 18 days and then take a break to enjoy your holidays. Basically it's important to front load your month with as many selling opportunities (trunk shows, vendor events, pop-up shops, fundraisers & personal shopping opps) as possible because the 18th is the last day for $5.95 shipping to arrive before Christmas.
How do you do this....GET ON THE PHONE and off Facebook!!!!! Reach out to friends and family about wanting to make December your best month yet. Remind them that December is one of the BEST months to earn hostess rewards and having a ladies gathering at their house or a pop-up shop at their work during lunch is SUPER easy. No need for fancy finger foods - heck offer to bring a couple bottles of wine and cookies...that's all you need. They just need to call their friends and ask them to come shop at their house instead of the mall!
Now is a good time to look at your goals for the month and decide where you want to be on December 31st. How do you want to end your first quarter as a Stella & Dot stylist? I don't know about you...but I have STARS in my eyes!!
Ways to Maximize the Next 18 Days
2. Get In Front of People! Posting a picture on facebook is nice but it won't get you where you need to be. This business is about personal relationships and reaching out. Whether that is calling someone you met last month about having a quick 2 hour shopping event at their house or sharing the stylist opportunity with someone who commented on your necklace. It's all about talking to people. Get off social media and out of the house!
Have extra holiday look books hanging around? Slap your contact info on the front and stand outside Trader Joes for an hour and pass them out. Or stop into your hair salon and nail salon and drop off the fall look books. Get your name out in your community.
3. BOOK IN TIGHT!!! Your goal should be to make as many selling opportunities in the next 18 days as possible.
Here are some ideas:
- Holiday sip & shops (I challenge you each to do 10)
- Vendor events and shopping bazaars. When you are at theses types of events meet other people and ask them what they do during this time of year to be successful. Then plan for next year.
- Networking events - there are lots of these going on this month - ask if you can come with your stuff and set up a table.
- Fundraising - Adopt a family and donate your commission this month to buy gifts for them. Call anyone who you think would like this idea and ask them to host a show to help you collect for the family in need this holiday season. OR pick a charity that is near and dear to someone you know and offer to donate a portion or all of your commission for that event to their charity of choice.
- Office pop-up shops - ask your friends who work in office buildings if you can set up your table in the lunch room or the lobby for a couple hours.
- OPEN HOUSE - each of you is allowed to have 2 double dip trunk shows a year and you have 30 days left to use them. Pick a day or two and set up your stuff. Invite everyone you know (and all of your neighbors) over to shop and help a small business during the holidays. (Note: I did this on Saturday from 11-3 and sold almost $800 in product!!).
4. Personal Reach-out. I will say this until I am blue in the face - get off social media and connect with people one on one. Call people and ask them if you can help them shop for their - wife, sister, teachers, etc. Taking the time to be someone's personal shopper will make them feel special and also they will remember to come back to you in the future when they have a gift to give.
