What We Did This Week
Here are some of the skills we've been working with your child:
ELA: We've continued our Letter of the Day, with students working on letters V-Z. We read the story "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," working on concepts such as big, medium, and small. We had fun acting out the story as well.
Math: We focused on the color green, the number three, and the shape circle. We also worked on counting from 1-10. and counting objects with a 1:1 correspondence.
Writing: We've been practicing how to write our name or how to sequence the letters in our name. We worked on our Class Book, "Apples on Top."

Art Communication
Ms. Foster is sending home flyers with your child's SeeSaw account for art. She will be using SeeSaw to show you pictures of your child's amazing art work. Please look for the flyer being sent home.
Sickness
If there is one thing all young children are good at, it's sharing germs. We've already experienced some of our friends becoming sick this year and we know it'll continue until June. Many times we hear a parent express worry about their child missing too much school. Please do not worry about this. We know that this is your child's first experience in school and we know that their poor immune systems will struggle to adjust. As long as you stay in contact with us and let us know what is going on, it's okay that your child needs to miss school to stay home and get better. Most of the time, we will have been in contact with you, letting you know that we think they are coming down with the bug. Home is truly the best place for your child to be when they are sick.
Outside Play
For as long as we can, we will be going outside to play. Our recess time is at 10:00 a.m. which means that some mornings, it can be chilly outside. Please make sure your child has a hat, mittens/gloves, a warm coat, and warm boots to wear.
Once winter comes, we will also be looking to go outside and play at least once a week. They will need snowpants as well as boots, coat, hats, and mittens.
Remind
If you haven't updated your Remind class, please do so by texting @4ckb73 to the number 81010. Even if you were already signed up with me for a previous year, please update to the 2018-2019 class. It makes it easier to send group messages to everyone so I can notify people quickly if anything comes up.
