Barton Junior High School
May 2023
Progress Reports for the 4th nine-weeks are coming home today, May 3, 2023. Check for this in your child's planner.
ACT Aspire testing started yesterday, May 2. The students worked hard! I heard many conversations among teachers stating that students worked hard, took their time, and seemed to want to do well! We are SUPER proud of the great start! We will continue testing on May 4, May 9, and May 11. Please be sure your child is AT SCHOOL, ON TIME, WITH THEIR CHARGED CHROMEBOOK.
On May 12, we will have a testing reward day for students that were prepared and tried their best each day during testing. We will take the students to Lanxess Pavillion for a day of fun and snacks. 7th graders will go in the morning and 8th graders will go in the afternoon. Students will be at Barton for regular dismissal time.
Please continue to talk to your child about being RESPONSIBLE and RESPECTFUL. This is The Wildkitten Way, and how we should live each day! Our spring dance is based on students being Respectful. The dance will be May 12 at 7:30pm in the cafeteria. Students must have purchased a ticket for $5 in advance and meet the criteria to attend. The dance will end at 9:30pm.
We have several things on the calendar to wrap up our year with our Barton students. Coming up are the following events:
- Barton Gives Back (May 26) A day of fun for students while we raise money to help our students and the community!
- Honor's Day Assembly (May 31 @ 9am in the gym)
- Final Exams: 5th period on May 31 (regular day); 1st & 2nd period on June 1 (dismiss at 11:30); 3rd & 4th period on June 2 (dismiss at 11:30); 6th & 7th on June 5 (dismiss at 11:30). June 6-7 are exam make-up days if your child happens to miss one of the other exam times.
- There is no school after June 7 for students.
We appreciate ALL you do for your child in supporting us as we do all we can for your child! It truly takes a village!
