MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Living God, In the season of spring help us to rejoice in the newness of life and to celebrate all life that comes from you. We thank You for blooming flowers and budding trees, for birds singing and beautiful butterflies, and for the world made new. We wonder at the beauty of this season and the hope that it brings. Amen.
In everything give thanks.
1 Thessalonians 5: 18
October- Month of the Rosary
Mary, our good Mother, that throughout all time
no-one whoever had sought your help, or come to you for support, has been abandoned.
Confident in this love, I come to you, Mary, in need and in hope.
Graciously hear my prayer and increase my desire to say ‘Yes’.
The Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother, prays for us continually, and helps those
we entrust to her care.
Welcome to Term Four
The sunshine made a glorious start to our new term - the spring weather and the holiday break seem to have given vitality to us all! Our students, in their summer uniforms and with many sporting smart new haircuts, arrived looking happy and enthusiastic to be back at school, as were staff, after a refreshing break.
Staff Change for Term Four
We welcome Mrs Kellie Hayes to our staff for Term Four as Mrs Michelle Smith is on long service leave. Mrs Melissa Knight is also on long service leave for this term. We wish both Mrs Smith and Mrs Knight a very relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle this term will bring.
Year Six Students
This term the School Community is focused on our wonderful Year 6 children as they prepare for their Graduation from primary school culminating in a Graduation and Thanksgiving Mass at the end of the term. We ask Jesus to be with our Year Six children and their families during this time.
St Luke's Feast Day
This Sunday we will celebrate the feast day of our school and parish patron saint, St Luke with a Mass commencing at 9.30am in the church with parishioners. I strongly encourage as many families as possible to attend the Mass to help the Parish celebrate Saint Luke the Evangelist who is the patron saint of artists, physicians, bachelors, surgeons, students and butchers. Next Wednesday our school will have stalls and a talent show to raise money for the Sisters of Mercy whose charism we acknowledge in honour of our foundation Principal, Sister Mary O’Connor.
Athletics Carnival
We ask each child to bring their hats, sunscreen, snacks and plenty of water to drink and don’t forget…there will be a coffee van, cake stall run by the P&F and sausage sizzle organised by our Fathers’ Group. I look forward to seeing you during the course of the day!

MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
All Souls' Day & Memorial Garden
All Souls' Day is a holy day within the Church, set aside for honouring those who have passed away into eternal life. The day is primarily celebrated in the Catholic Church, but it is also celebrated in the Eastern Orthodox Church and a few other denominations of Christianity. This year at St Luke’s, we will be celebrating as a whole school an All Souls' Day Mass to be held on Thursday, 4th November at 9.30am in the Church. We would like to commemorate those who have passed and offer them up in the mass. Therefore, if you have a loved one who has passed, you are invited to send through a photo and name, and they will be included in the mass for the day. Please send through your photo and name of the person, you wish to be included, to: maura.killalea@cewa.edu.au before Friday the 29th October.
We would also like to introduce our memorial garden which is placed in the school’s prayer garden near the Performing Arts Centre. Families are welcome to donate money that will go towards the maintenance and up keep of the garden and in turn will receive a butterfly. You will have the option to offer a name on the butterfly of someone who has passed away. This name will be added to the butterfly and placed on the wall. Members of the community who have passed may include anyone of any age. As this may be a sensitive topic to some families, is not compulsory, nor necessary. You may only wish to have your loved one remembered in the mass only, and that will be respected. If you wish to nominate a name on a butterfly on the St Luke’s prayer garden wall, please email me direct on the above email address.
BYOD Parent Evening
With this partnership, we are able to offer all students (in any year group) the opportunity to purchase education specific devices for use throughout their studies at a discounted price. The nominated product offered has education discounted Apple iPad pricing along with financing options, extended warranty and accidental damage insurance options. This is to be the most suitable device to be used within the school.
If you would like to bring in your own iPad for the BYOD program, please ensure it is at least a Series 8 with at least 64GB of storage. These need to be dropped off (completely wiped) to the school in Week 8 of this term so that we can enrol them into our JAMF management system. We will aim to have them back to you by the end of that week.
Thank you for your help and assistance with this initiative.
Thank You!
Thank you to Mr Plint for driving this initiative!

Tomorrow is our fabulous Athletics Carnival, and we send a huge thank you to Mr Noseda and all the staff for working on this wonderful day for our students.
This is a wonderful community day with a cake stall, BBQ and coffee van all available to make it a proper party. Bring in your cash/coins and help us fundraise for our P & F and the St Luke’s Fathering Group. All cake/lollies donations can be taken to the stall on the school oval after 8.30am.
