We Are Together Tamanend!
December 14, 2015
Tamanend’s Winter Dance was a huge success! All of our students looked wonderful as they enjoyed dancing, taking pictures with their friends, and chatting in the cafeteria while enjoying some delicious snacks and baked goods. At 9 o'clock, we welcomed the holiday court and crowned our 9th grade King and Queen, Omar L. and Lauren F. Ms. Vitacco and Madame Thompson would like to thank the Student Council Officers for their amazing decorations as well as our teacher and parent chaperones for their help throughout the night.
Gold'n'Blues Community Performances
The Gold'n'Blues performed for Gilda’s Club at Anne’s Choice this past Saturday. Gold'n'Blues will be performing again this Friday, December 18th at the Fountain House (aka Downtown Doylestown Starbucks) at 7pm on the front porch. We thank all of our Gold'n'Blues singers (and their parents) for sharing your talent in service to others! And, thank you, Mr. Sanchez!
District Communication Survey
In the past few years, communication across the district has greatly evolved. Our district and school websites have been upgraded with the intent to make them more mobile-friendly, our school newsletter format has been standardized, and we have integrated Facebook and Twitter for the sharing of information. Given all of these changes, we wanted to poll our families on the effectiveness of our information outreach.
Here is a link to a brief survey that will help us gather your feedback and to ensure that information and updates are reaching our families in the most efficient manner. The link will also be available on the district webpage. If you have children in multiple buildings, please feel free to complete multiple surveys or utilize the final question to differentiate your responses.
We value your insight and appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey. If you have any questions, please contact Community Relations at: Communityrelations@cbsd.org
9TH GRADE YEARBOOK BABY PICTURES
The Tamanend Middle School yearbook advisors will be collecting 9th grade baby pictures for the 2015-2016 yearbook. We are inviting you to include a memento in your child’s yearbook that he or she will remember forever. Submitting your student’s picture is a great way to honor your child in the yearbook at this special time in his or her life. The cost is $5. If you would like to participate in this milestone experience, please CLICK HERE. All submissions are due by Wednesday, December 23rd.

Paperback Book Donation
Our Community Service Club continues to sponsor a new/gently used paperback book collection. Aidan B, a 7th grade student, whose idea it was, is heading up the service project by placing a bin in the front office for the collection of the books and he will also transport the books that are donated to the Martha Washington Elementary School and Penn Treaty Middle School in Philadelphia. His goal is to make sure every student in each school gets a book. So, clean out your bookcase or purchase a new book and bring it to Tamanend's Front office and place them in the labeled bin. The collection will continue up until the winter break.

Parent/Guardian Volunteers Needed
Parents of middle schoolers often ask how they can get involved. Some parents say that their child does not want them to get involved. At Tamanend, there are many special things that go on throughout the school year that would not be possible without the involvement and support of our parents. Please get involved.
Volunteers must have their clearances on file with the CBSD Human Resources Department prior to starting volunteer work. The new Pennsylvania State mandate does allow until July 1, 2016 to obtain background checks. However, in the best interest of the safety and security of our students, we are asking volunteers to comply with submitting background checks prior to volunteering in the 2015-2016 school year.
Volunteers may drop off required paperwork at the Administration Center at 20 Welden Drive.
