Message from the Principal

Dear Advantage Arts Family,

We made it to December! I hope everyone had a wonderful, safe holiday break. We are already looking at school for next year. So, I am asking for our school community's help. Advantage Arts Academy will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, December 15th from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

At the open house, we will be giving tours and answering questions about the school. This will be an opportunity for interested students and families to receive information about our enrollment lottery that opens on January 3rd.

Here is the fun part! For every family who you refer to the open house, You (as a family) will be entered into a giveaway. The prize for this giveaway has been graciously donated. We will be giving away a new iPad.

We want your neighbors and friends to come see the wonderful things happening here at Advantage Arts. I am new to the school, and I have enjoyed every minute of getting to know the families, students, and staff. This has quickly become a home for me.

Thank you all for the support and help with our school,

Mr. Kano

Thank You to Herriman High School Choir

This week Advantage Arts Academy held an assembly for Herriman High School Choir to come and perform a Christmas showcase of songs. The choir was amazing and the students loved every minute of it. Thank you so much to Herriman High School for coming and sharing your talent with us!

Center Stage

1st Grade Holiday Traditions

In first grade we talked about our favorite holiday traditions. Students shared how they loved to decorate Christmas trees, play board games, write letters to Santa, wear festive pajamas, and much more. We talked about how we all can celebrate holidays differently and that's awesome. Each student then drew a picture of a favorite holiday tradition and added it to a paper ornament that they decorated. We hung them on the tree in the Art Nook and they look fabulous!

2nd Grade Helping Hands

In second grade we have been learning about how we can be a helping hand in our classroom. We worked together to make a class mural with each student's hand outlined and decorated with patterns. We wrote one or two ways we could be a helping hand in the classroom on the hands as a reminder to always help in the class.

It's Snowing At Advantage Arts Academy

This week students made snowflakes in library to cover our library hallway walls! The looks on their faces when their cut up triangle magically turned into a beautiful snowflake when they unfolded them was priceless! We talked about EVERY snowflake being different and how boring the walls would look, and how hard it would be to find your snowflake if every single one looked the same. We all had so much fun and have loved hearing the kids showing off their snowflakes to their teachers and friends! Kindergarten will be finishing their snowflakes this Monday!

"People are like snowflakes. Everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way!"

After School Clubs

ART CLUB WILL NOT BE HELD THIS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8th.

Drama Club

There will be DRESS REHEARSAL for drama club for the students that made it for a kid version of A Christmas Carol at 3:30 Tuesday!

Violin Music Club is NOW FULL

Violin Club will be for 3rd-6th Grade Student and is on MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY from 3:15-4:15. Students in the Violin Music Club will need go straight to ROOM 201 (Next to Mrs. Redd's art room) after school. On the day your student has club, larger instruments can be brought into the front office in the morning and must be picked up on the way to room 210.

Get Involved

We have so many fun opportunities to volunteer at our amazing school and be part of all of the fun!
