A Message from Principal Bare
As you may know, there was a National movement organized by high school students to walk out of schools today in protest of climate change.
If students made the choice to walk out of school today their absence was changed to an unexcused absence. As always, parents can check their students’ attendance status using PowerSchool at any time by clicking Attendance in the menu bar on the left.
We respect students' choice to exercise their right to protest. Our hope is that you have had, or will have, a thoughtful conversation with your child about their choice to protest or not. We appreciate parents who called in to let us know that they were aware of where their students were during this time. Those absences were changed to unexcused, parent contact (UPX) as is the policy according to the student handbook.
As always, we appreciate your partnership in supporting your student through the high school years.

GRIZZ PAGEANT 2019
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
April 12th 7pm Mountain Avenue Theater
Grizz Pageant's preparation and fundraising is in full swing and we couldn’t be more excited!
Grizz Pageant one of the highlights of the year! This fundraiser event gets eight incredible students from each grade to compete in raising money for Asante Regional Medical Center and Children’s Miracle Network. Not only are these Grizz contestants using this next month to hold numerous forms of individual and group fundraising, but it is all in anticipation for the pageant itself!! A night showcasing talent, humor, dance moves, and more, these grizzlies will give you a peak into their lives, provide entertainment and create memories to last a life time. Two contestants will be crowned: one for raising the most money and one for their Pageant performance.
All of the proceeds raised from their fundraising pursuits and donations at the event will go towards cutting-edge technology for Asante's NICU to help premature babies!
Let's meet this year's contestants!
Our 9th graders: Davidson Graham and Anna Gutrich. Our sophomores: James Le Fond and Gabe Giancarlo. Our juniors: Sequoia Jacobson and Sam Austin. And our seniors: Nicky Clary and Richie Sommers.
With all that being said,
We invite you to come out and support their upcoming fundraisers!
Pie in the Face Fundraiser

Senior Projects Presentations--May 1
Spring Presentations will be held on Wednesday, May 1st.
Senior Projects are an important opportunity for AHS Seniors to explore subjects and interests in ways that challenge them and encourage them to go above and beyond anything they have done before. Senior Projects also teach students the importance of giving back to their community and sharing their knowledge and experiences with a wider audience. These projects are shared in a formal presentation setting where students have a chance to discuss not only what they accomplished but also their journey over the last four years of high school.
