Principal Message: Thank you, AMS Community!
This will be my last Tiger Tales e-newsletter after 13 years as the Principal at Atascocita Middle School. I want to express my gratitude to the parent community for their participation & support for all these years. Your involvement at home monitoring HW & grades, being present at performances & events, and volunteering at various times (PTA, PAC, Booster Clubs, Iron Men, and more) are necessary to support children socially, emotionally, and academically.
I have told the AMS staff and many students already, but I want to pass along to you my plans for next year. I am excited to be returning to the classroom -- the roots of teaching & learning -- as an 8th grade Science teacher at Ross Sterling Middle School in Humble ISD. It was always my career goal to return to teaching before I retire. I have the energy for many more years in education. Also, I hoped to increase my work in discipleship through local churches. Overall, I felt like it was time to return to the classroom. I will miss many, many relationships that have been developed with staff, students, and parents over the year, but I am confident in the future of AMS.
Jermon Malone, 4th & newest Principal at AMS, has been on the campus many times meeting staff & students and soaking in knowledge about AMS's past & present. Mr. Malone will do great things with the AMS Team & Family. He is already making positive connections. I want you to be excited about his entry into the AMS Community. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY encourage & ask the AMS Parents to volunteer with our new PAC Board, donate to the Annual Fund, and be proactive in supporting Mr. Malone in his first year!
Go Tigers! Go Atascocita! #AtascaTigers

Calling All Immunization Records!!
As your children receive their middle school immunizations, please
remember to bring or send a copy of their updated immunization record to Mrs. Garcia ( nurse) at the AMS clinic. Many of your children have

According to Texas state law, without proof of the required vaccines,
your child(ren) will not be able to attend school and may be withdrawn.
This is especially important for 6th grade students who are entering 7th grade.
