TAMANEND FEATURES
For 9th Grade Students in Ms. Connell's and Mr. Sterner's English Classes
In early December, we will begin our next book in English class and we need to let you know how to get your copy of this for use during the unit. For students in Hybrid 1 or Hybrid 2, the book will be available for students to pick up in class beginning this week from a table in the classroom.
For students that are 100% virtual, we are having an after school pick up similar to what occurred for all classes in September, though on a smaller scale. We will ask for you to try and pick up the book between 3:15 and 5:30 PM on Monday, November 23rd outside the Cafeteria following the same protocol as in September. You will pull in the main driveway and head back towards the softball field, staying inside the cones to pull up near the black fencing and gate outside the cafeteria. If you can display your student name in the window or dashboard, that is helpful.

FROM OUR GUIDANCE OFFICE
Guidance Sparks
“The greatest gift parents can give their children is to help them discover their purpose and passion”, states Peter Benson a leading authority on childhood and adolescence and the author of Sparks. This can be an overwhelming challenge in today’s difficult world. Over the past 2 years, school counselors from all building levels in CBSD have developed a K-12 Guidance Plan. Brainstorming, stake-holder involvement, creative planning, goal setting and implementation continue to be part of this. The Plan includes what is currently part of our academic, social/emotional guidance curriculum and in this evolving process we will try to meet the variety of needs of our students and school community. We invite you to share in our continued learning on how to inspire passion and purpose. Articles, videos, and documents will be shared in your school newsletter on a regular basis. Look for the SPARKS picture like the one above. We hope you find this information beneficial to you and your family. We appreciate your time and involvement in the education of all our students.
For comments or questions, please contact Ginny Barrett at vbarrett@cbsd.org.

FROM OUR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Introducing LanSchool Air
Thank you for your support and patience as we work together to help students continue their education from home during this extraordinary time. We wanted to tell you about one of the solutions we are offering teachers to help support virtual learning: LanSchool Air.
LanSchool Air helps teachers provide instruction and guidance to students outside of the traditional classroom. This solution includes features that:
- Allow teachers to save time by pushing a website to all student devices instantly.
- Offer instant messaging between the teacher and students, giving students the opportunity to digitally “raise their hand” to indicate they’ve finished their assignment or have a question.
- Enable teachers to view students’ screens to ensure they’re staying on track.
- Provide a way for teachers to set restrictions on the websites and apps students can visit during class time.
If you would like more information about LanSchool Air, please visit the website at Lanschoolair.com.
Thank you for all you are doing to keep your children safe and learning.
