How Twitter Positively Impacts Student Learning & Engagement
"Twitter's power lies in the fact that it provides educators with 24/7 access to brilliant, generous people who are willing to share resources, ideas and support. But none of those things matter, if they don't result in real outcomes for real students. I asked members of my PLN to share a story of how being a connected educator via Twitter resulted in changes in practice that positively impacted students."
If you are still baffled as to the power of Twitter to transform your teaching and in turn enliven your classroom and directly benefit students, please take a moment to watch the videos of some EDU Rock Stars as they share why you should connect and build a PLN with Twitter.

Canva for Education - Lesson Plans Incorporating Visuals Across the Curriculum
The new Canva for Education site features eighteen lesson plans written by Vicki Davis, Steven Anderson, Terri Eichholz, and Paul Hamilton. The lesson plans include things like Paul's making historical infographics in which students summarize and visually represent the connections between historical events and their causes. For the elementary school crowd Terri has a lesson called Initial Selfies in which students learn to isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds. One of Steven's lesson plans calls for students to build graphics about percentages. And to take advantage of students' familiarity with Facebook, Vicki has built a lesson plan in which students build historical figure fan pages.
Check out the Canva for Education page to find all of the lesson plans and tutorials on how to use Canva.

Ignite Learning with Augmented Reality
Here are just a few ideas for how to use Aurasma to IGNITE LEARNING in your classroom. For more ideas click on the link below.
- Labeling of Diagrams Do you have that key poster or picture that you have on the wall, but when you give your students a test, they always check it for the answers to certain questions? Using Aurasma, you can have students use the app to identify key information when they study the picture but keep the answers away when it comes to testing.
- Tutorials Create screen casts to animate mathematical problems being solved. This can be used as a self-check tool in the classroom, or serve as a tutorial to students who need additional help at home.
- Faculty Photo Wall Personalize your school's entryway by hanging a photograph of each staff member. Each picture (or name/text on the picture) could be an AR trigger that allows parents to learn more about each faculty member. A great way to build relationships and P.R. using A.R.! A trigger image placed outside the door of each classroom is also a great idea for students to grab important information from the teacher without entering the room.
