Details for VerHulst Hayride.

Unfortunately the business constraints from our office seems to have cut our registrations from 60 last year to only 18 this year! So we do not have enough to reach the Group Rate of 40 people. BUT WE ARE STILL GOING!!

It also means that since we are all riding as individual customers EVERYONE is invited! Just meet us there! (unfortunately since this is a "Y'all come" kind of event we will not be able to provide chaperoning for the unknown # of teens who might participate).

Rosary Coast to Coast at Holy Cross Parish, Charlotte

Sunday, October 7 3:00 PM in the Church
In our country we are experiencing a decline in our family values, morals, brotherly love, the removal of God from public life, division, and lack of respect for all human life. Join your Holy Cross family, along with the entire nation, as we pray in unison for America. We will begin in the church and then process to Our Mother Mary’s Grotto.

More information about the Rosary
The word Rosary means “Crown of Roses.” Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary, they are giving her a beautiful rose, and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. Your prayer, made together with our heavenly Mother, can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Did you know about these 7 additional benefits of the Rosary?

  • It gradually gives us a fuller knowledge of Jesus Christ.
  • It purifies our souls and helps us to avoid sin.
  • It gives us victory over all our enemies.
  • It makes it easy for us to practice virtue.
  • It sets us on fire with love of Our Lord.
  • It helps us to pay our debts to God and to our fellow men
  • It obtains all kinds of graces and merits for us from Almighty God.

Tuesday, Oct. 9th, 6:30-7:30pm

Parish Center

Have you wondered why people think NCYC is a big deal?

Come to the NCYC Kickoff Party on October 9th 6:30-7:30

Every other year, Catholic young people and their chaperones come together to pray, learn, and grow in their faith. In addition to opportunities to receive the sacraments of the Eucharist and penance, NCYC participants attend general and breakout sessions on topics relevant to living as a disciple of Christ in today’s world, visit with organizations that provide resources and other support to youth and youth ministry, spend time in personal and communal prayer, and engage in service to others. You can join us! Come check it out on October 9th!

The Hands of Christ Recognition

The Hands of Christ is a recognition program created by the Diocese of Rochester to assist parishes in affirming their high school seniors who have been the “Hands of Christ” in their church, home, school and community, sponsored by the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis. Recognized seniors are invited to receive a plaque from the Most Reverend Bishop Salvatore R. Matano at one of three special Recognition Ceremonies to be held in February 2019. This year St Pius X Church is honored to host one of these Recognition Ceremonies.

The Criteria to receive this very special recognition:

  • Is currently a high school senior.
  • Has consistently demonstrated a Christian attitude by word and example.
  • Has been actively involved in the parish as well as their school or community.
  • Has been a positive role model to their peers, younger children and adults.
  • Is a practicing Roman Catholic in a parish in the Diocese of Rochester and attends Mass.

Looking Ahead - Youth Nights in October

A Cosmic Adventure through Science & Faith

Can science prove that God doesn’t exist? Many prominent scientists seem to think so. But science can only prove things that they can see, hold and quantify. Science can’t prove love and science doesn’t have a way to quantify grace or forgiveness both of which can change a life. We will take 2 weeks and explore how God reveals God’s Self to humanity through the cosmic intersection of science AND faith!

St Pius Tenth Youth Ministry

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” –1 Timothy 4:12
