Student of the Month

Big image

Sophie Proctor was chosen as Student of the Month, because she tries her hardest in every aspect. She has already had 2 break throughs this week and continues to grow, not just as an actor/singer, but as a sweet young girl!

Besides Brielle, Chris, Jenny, Jodi and Alika, we've got some other amazing instructors:

  • Amy Z., who will be teaching jazz/contemporary/hip hip rotation class, is a Dallas native and a former Dallas Mavericks Dancer. Amy has stared in multiple commercials like Pepsi, Mary Kay, Sam's Club, and more. She has also worked with high schools and colleges, such as Texas Tech, SMU, Highland Park, Richardson, etc. She is all-around talented and a great fit to Studio 7!
  • Jacie Scott, who will be teaching ballet, jazz/musical theatre and lyrical classes, is from New Orleans. She began dancing at the age of three, training with Linda Lavender School of Dance and the Twin City Ballet Company. She was also on her high school drill team and a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader! Jacie has shared the stage with multiple music industry people such as Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Usher, Ne-yo and Luke Bryan at the Thanksgiving Halftime Performance. While she isn't dancing she is an instructor at The Bar Method and a freelance writer for multiple Dallas newspapers.

Spread the Word

- This month at Studio 7, everything is in full force. CAS Performance Team has officially started and is getting ready for their Halloween Show on Sunday, October 30th at 2:00 pm at Gilley's in Dallas.

- Come express yourself through your music and art on the last Sunday of every month with Brielle and Jodi. They will be holding a Paint the Song Seminar that allows artists to come into the studio with a song of their choice and paint how it makes them feel. It's important for every artist to connect with songs not just musically, but also on a deeper, emotional level. Come have fun with Studio 7 and paint your song!

- Studio 7 has finally got their own costume designer to teach on Mondays at 4:00 - 5:00 pm. She will be teaching you everything you need know about the craft of sewing. Sewing/Crafts is not like any sewing class you've heard about, because Karen puts the fun into sewing and you will be taking your own creations home with you. This class starts the first week of November, so make sure you sign up. It's filling quickly!

- CAS Performance Team is putting together their own Christmas Show on December 11th at 2:00 pm. After the show, we will be having a Studio 7 Christmas Party and you'll get a chance to have your picture taken with Santa. There is only one way to enter the show: you must bring one unwrapped gift per person to the Christmas show, The Talented Toy Drive.

- Come travel the world with Studio 7 during Home School Fridays. Traveling begins the first Friday of November 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Each month we will celebrate a new country and engulf our students with all aspects of the cultures, so let us take you to places like Africa, Japan and Australia. A typical month with look like this: Jenny will teach the power and principles of the country's beats through movement. Brielle with teach the rhythms and sounds through different instruments and vocals. Jodi will be exploring the different artistic styles and artworks native to each country. Karen will be helping each child create different things through crafts and sewing that go along with each country. Your child will be thrown into a new country every month without ever needing a passport. Come explore with us!

Spread the Love

Hearts Of Maya collected over 500 cans for the North Texas Food Bank to get ready for the Uptown Block Party Canned Food Art Display Contest on October 4th. Being the only children's group at the contest, everyone was excited to hear everything about HOM and her Studio 7 helpers! The HOM team created a canned heart sculpture to represent the logo. Not only was it great exposure for the charity, but it allowed HOM and Studio 7 to give back and help the North Texas Food Bank.
