Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
Thank you to those who attended our Return to Campus Parent Meeting last night. A link for last night’s Return to Campus presentation can be found HERE and the video of the meeting will be available on our school’s YouTube page later this week.
Here is a LINK to our most recent FAQ related to our Return to Campus.
Survey Coming Soon: Once BMMS agrees on an instructional model for our Return to Campus, we will share that with you and allow you the opportunity to share your preference for a learning environment if you have changed your mind.
In order to help our return to campus, BMMS could use more adults to help supervise classrooms and students on campus. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this form below. Our volunteers would take attendance, make sure students are safe in the classroom, and assist with connecting online and staying on task. We will be interviewing volunteer candidates to ensure understanding of the expectations and meeting district requirements. Please click this link to share your interest in volunteering to supervise students: LINK More information about PUSD volunteers can be found at https://www.powayusd.com/en-US/volunteer

to our Black Mountain community. Our next meeting is Tuesday, Dec 1, 6pm. To join us, please submit your name to this form: LINK

Racial Equity Community Conversations: Many of you may have attended the first of a series of “Racial Equity Community Conversations” hosted by PUSD to support our ongoing work to ensure we are providing a safe and positive school culture and learning experience for ALL of our students and their families. The purpose of the “Racial Equity Community Conversations” is to foster trust with our families of color and build partnerships toward improving the experiences of our students of color on all campuses in PUSD. These conversations are organized by feeder pattern, elementary through high school, to ensure we are addressing any issues and concerns systemically as a team, partnering with parents, staff, students, and community members in our surrounding neighborhoods. Although we have completed an initial meeting for all five feeder patterns, we recognize many families/guardians were unable to attend. Accordingly, PUSD is hosting an additional session, via Zoom, on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm open to all PUSD families who were unable to attend their school’s feeder pattern session.
Our goal at this first meeting is to listen to our diverse community and learn from your experiences, so we can strengthen our efforts to improve racial equity in accordance with our recent PUSD Board Resolution Against Racism. Please RSVP here: http://bit.ly/PUSD-RECC You must RSVP in order to receive the Zoom link to attend, which will be sent out prior to next Monday night’s meeting. We look forward to you joining us in this important work!
Thank you for everyone’s support, grace and patience. I feel I can’t say that enough. I am proud to be part of a community working together to best support our students.
A better school starts with each one of us,
Scott Corso
