From the Principal:
Dear Sunflower Families,
I want to shout out our amazing Mr. Gipson and his 5th Grade Rock Band! They performed their winter concert last night and they rocked it! We appreciate Mr. Gipson providing amazing music opportunities to our scholars. Check out the slideshow below for a glimpse into the performance.
Due to the performance last night we did reschedule our Site Council meeting and PTO meeting to next Tuesday, December 13th. Site Council will meet virtually at 5:00pm and PTO will meet virtually at 6:00pm. Both meetings can be accessed at this link.
I will also host another Coffee with the Principal on Thursday, Dec 15 at 9:00 in the staff lounge. This is an informal time for parents to come and meet with me, engage in conversation and enjoy a hot cup of coffee. Please RSVP at this link if you are interested in attending.
Lastly, I want to shout out the Laster family & Taco John's for their donation of chips for our staff as we enjoy chips and salsa in the lounge today!
As always it is an honor to serve as the Principal of Sunflower Elementary.

Water Bottles/Drinks/Breakfast Items
Parents, just a friendly reminder that students can only bring in water to have during the day. They can pack a juice box or Gatorade for lunch time, but should only have water in their water bottles. Please refrain from sending your students with hot chocolates or coffees and make sure that any outside breakfast items are finished before entering the building.
Join Our Team!
Sunflower is currently hiring for a full-time paraprofessional and interventionist. Please call the school if you are interested. Feel free to spread the word if you know someone who might be a good candidate.
Dress for the Weather
Please dress your students appropriately for the weather every day. We will continue to go outside for recess until the wind chill falls below 15 degrees. Please remember to write your students' names on their hats and coats so they can be returned if they are misplaced or lost.
