Dear Parents,
Here's what's happening at school this week.
PE Reminder
Please send students with gym shoes on the week they have PE. They will not be allowed to participate in PE activities in snow boots for safety reasons.
English
The students did a great job last week researching the Klondike Gold Rush and creating their own Kahoot games, most of which we were able to play on Friday. We will begin reading Jason's Gold this week in class. Students will take notes on character, setting, conflict, and plot as we read.
Social Studies
The second round of the Geography Bee, which is a 5th-6th grade competition, will be held this week. The third and final round will be a 5th through 8th grade competition that will be held in the CMS/HS Auditorium. Stay tuned for more information. I will keep you posted!

Math
This week, students will learn how to write simple inequalities. Students will also be finding solutions to simple inequalities. They will also graphing inequalities. On Friday, there will be a quiz over these concepts to check for understanding. IXL practice: Z.1,Z.2, Z.3, Z.4, and Z.5.
Art
Sixth grade art students are working on a foil embossing project in Art class. They will look great at the K-12 Art show this spring. If your student is in band and having a hard time finishing projects on their art days, they are encouraged to come into the art room any Monday at lunch recess to work.
