What to Expect

First Trimester

Tiny limb buds, which will grow into the arms and legs, the heart and lungs begin to form, the body's organs will start to mature &the fetus will gain weight. by the end of this month the fetus is about 2 1/2 inches long and a little over 1 ounce.

For The Baby

the brain & spinal cord forms, Embryo is 1/2 inch long weighs less than 1 ounce. Ears ankles wrists fingers and toes begin to form. 1 inch long.

Second Trimester

The fetus becomes more active turning from side to side, the fingernails have grown. the fetus sleeps and has a month of rapid growing at the end of the 5th month the fetus is 8 to 12 cinches long and 1/2 to 1 pound

For The Baby

The baby have little movement, pink skin& transparent. Umbilical cord grows, placenta is fully formed, in the fetus the skin is red and wrinkle, soft hair at 6 months in the womb. finger and toe prints can be seen.

Third Trimester

the fetus exercises by kicking and stretching, the Fetus responds to light and sound. at 8 months the fetus is too big to move around much but can kick strongly and roll around. At 9 months the baby is full term, the baby's lungs are mature and ready to work on their own.

For The Baby

At 7 months the baby is about 15 inches long and weighs about 3 pounds. At 8 months the brain is still growing. during the 9th month the baby gains about 1/4 to 1/2 pounds a week.Before birth the baby moves into the position getting ready to be born the position is called the "Head-Down" position. The baby now would weigh 6-9 pounds and is 19-21 inches long.
