Cystic Fibrosis (Student Council Fundraiser)

The Student Council is collecting used books to sell Wednesday night at Open House to help with our fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. Also, the Student Council is collecting monetary donations. This week a S.C. rep. came to visit our classroom to talk to about Cystic Fibrosis. Learn more about how it is affecting two students (brothers) at Goodrich by watching the video below.

Writing: Opinion

Next week we will wrap up our Opinion Writing Unit with an assessment and begin poetry!

Math: Measurement and Data

This week we launched our unit on non-standard measurement. We worked as a team to measure various objects with different forms of non-standard measurement: paper clips, unifix cubes, and "ones" cubes.

2nd Step: Playing Games

This week with talked with Mrs. Ross about how to play games (at recess) successfully. We need to include others/everyone, create and use fair rules, and use good sportsmanship. We know that using rules helps keep us safe. To decide who goes first we can play rock-paper-scissors, ask a teacher for help, or use "eenie meenie miney mo".
