News from Ms. Hess
Mathematicians worked to add and subtract decimals using the standard algorithm and played games to add decimals and compare values.
In literacy, we learned how to use text features such as bold print and italics to help us research a landform with a partner. We will present our landform slideshow on Monday next week. We also learned to cite our sources of information.
Writers continued publishing their personal narratives. We also opened our unit on paragraph writing, talking paragraphs, reorganizing mixed up paragraphs, and writing a paragraph together as a class.
In Social Studies, we learned about latitude and longitude and began a Google Earth scavenger hunt where we used latitude and longitude to find a location, take a screenshot, and discover the location on the Earth.
Our Second Step goal is to learn to respectfully disagree.
