Undergraduate Research Assistant - Rate of pay is $12.00/hr, 10 hr/week.
Assist with various duties on a full-time, grant-funded math and science education research project under the direction of Dr. Julie Booth. Duties may include data collection in the participating schools, data coding, transcription of recorded speech, data management, assistance with preparing presentations and reports, literature reviews, and other duties related to preparing for data collection.
An ideal candidate is an undergraduate student with a major in a STEM or education domain and experience working with children in schools and interest in math and/or science learning preferred. Candidate must have PA criminal/child abuse clearances, or the ability to obtain them (and the ability to obtain them for NJ as well). Candidate must be able to work both independently, and also as a member of a team. Must have excellent attention to detail, be reliable, punctual, and able to follow research procedures. Must have basic MS Office skills and have a professional manner. Must have daytime availability on weekdays. Students that have access to a car and can travel to schools is a plus (any travel costs are reimbursed for gas and mileage).
