Are you Backable?

New ways to Approach Advocacy

  • 3:15 - 5:00 PM
  • Presenter: Kelly Hincks

  • Description: Come to this session having read the book Backable: The Surprising Truth Behind What Makes People Take a Chance on You by Suneel Gupta with Carlye Adler. Be ready to dive into the seven steps shared in the book and discuss how we can use these steps to advocate for our libraries. Although this book is written from a business perspective, it explains simple ways to share our work with our stakeholders that can have a lasting impact on our programs. The author will join us for a few minutes during the session to discuss the ideas in the book and answer questions from participants. All those who register for the pre-conference sessions will receive a copy of the book before the conference.
  • Even if you don't have a chance to read the book prior to the session, you will gain much information by attending the workshop and can read the book afterward.
