“I am a HAPPY DREAMER. I’m really good at dreaming. Daydreams. Big dreams. Little dreams. Creative dreams. Dreamer maximus!” -Peter H. Reynolds
Everyday at Discover U it is our job to nurture, inspire and empower all of our Explorers. This year we focused as a team to INSPIRE our students. This started on the first day of school with posters, music, high-fives and new artwork of all of your smiling faces around our school. Now that the year is winding down to an end, we hope that our students have felt inspired.
I’ve enjoyed watching as they explored their interests during our Friday Explorer Clubs. I watched as our Explorers saw their plants grow in Garden Club, practiced a new language in Spanish Class, took apart computers in MakerSpace, learned to measure in No Bake Cooking and produced our daily news in Media Club. In our classrooms I watched as they became voracious readers, thoughtful writers, mindful mathematicians and creative problem solvers during project based learning. Monthly, our Explorers were intrigued by community members sharing how they ‘Explore Excellence’ in their careers by being respectful, kind, proactive and courageous just like you. I loved seeing our families at school for our Science Fair, Field Day, Reading Under the Stars, Thanksgiving Feast, Winter Musical, Book Fairs and more. Each day watching our Explorers has inspired me and I hope each day has inspired you as parents.
We are excited to invite all parents to an end of year classroom celebration! There is so much to celebrate! Teachers will be recognizing each student with an individual award and a recap of their year. Please be on the lookout for invitations coming home.
