The basics

Location: Southwestern Asia, bordering the Caspian sea, between Iran and Russia. With a small European portion North of the Caucasus range.

Weather: 9 of 11 climate zones exist here. The lowest temperature recorded is -27.4 Fahrenheit and the highest temperature is 114.8 Fahrenheit.

Climate Type: Dry, semiarid steppe in the middle and the east. Subtropical in southeast, cold in the north and temperate on Caspian coast.

2 Physical Characteristics: Borders the Russian Federation. Half of the country is covered by mountains.

How to fit in

Language(s): Turkic spoken by about 32.2 million people.

4 Folkways: Combination of 2 generations in 1 household. Women engage in food preparation. Men help out by doing physical tasks outside. Women also take role by caring for the children and carpet weaving.

Taboos: Girls can not wear the hijab, which is a traditional head covering for women in public schools and they're band in public buildings.

Mores: Talking about the body and sex in public. Men won't say pregnant depending on the age unless they have to and after apologize. You're not being proper if you talk about going to the bathroom.

Evidence of Culture Change: They were apart of the Soviet Union until 1991 and now they are their own country.
