Notes from Principal Klueppel...

  • K-5 Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

  • Masks
    Staff, students, parents and other Bell-Graham visitors must wear a mask when on school property. This includes before/after school when dropping off or picking up students from the building.

  • Crosswalk Safety
    Students and parents should wait for the crossguards to tell them when it is safe to cross.

  • Be Neighborly
    Please be neighborly to our residents living close to the school. Do not block driveways and do not use them for turnaround.

  • Devices
    All students are required to bring their district-issued device to school with them daily. Those devices need to come to school fully charged. We do not have charging stations for the devices so we are counting on the students (with a little help from you too) to remember to charge those devices every night. Thanks for your help!

  • Lunch

    Students will get to choose from three options each day; 1 hot meal, 1 cold meal, or a sunbutter sandwich meal. Students will be able to buy ala carte drinks (milk and water) but they will need to order their drinks in the morning vs at lunchtime like they have in years past.

    To continue following social distancing guidelines, this year our lunchroom and gym will be set up for lunch service. Two classes from each grade level will eat in the lunchroom and two classes will eat in the gym. There will be supervision in both locations. Students will be seated 6' apart from one another.

Drop-off of Forgotten Items at Home

Please understand that an item that is dropped off for a student has to be handled by others before the student ultimately receives it. In an effort to mitigate germ exposure, we discourage dropping off forgotten items unless absolutely necessary. This is an opportunity to practice accountability.

Self Certification by 7:30 AM

Dear BG Families,

In a continuing effort to keep staff and students safe while also keeping arrival quick and efficient, please have your child certified in the computer by 7:30 am. This will ensure that students are not entering the classrooms before they are cleared. Certifying your child is both filling out the online form AND signing their backpack tag. If one or both of these steps are not done your child will be sent to the front of the building to check in. Once there, they will have their temperature taken and a phone call will be made to parents to fill out the online form. When their certification is verified they can enter the building. If you enter the online form after 7:30 am your child may have to go through this verification process before they can enter the building.


Thank you for all of your help and taking the extra steps to ensure everyone's safety.

Curriculum Night

Curriculum Night for in-person learners will be held on September 10 for our BG Community. Keep an eye out for additional details about Curriculum Night next week.


Remote:

Remote families will receive information for their curriculum night from their child's teacher

PTO News

Our school spirit wear store is now open and taking orders! Please use the link below to order your spirit wear. The store will be open until September 2nd. All orders will be delivered to the spirit wear chair the week of September 18th. Pick up will be arranged once the order has been received. All spirit wear orders support the Bell Graham PTO.



Cub Scout Annual Fishing Derby

When: Saturday August 29th at 8:30AM

Location: Willow Lake located in Fox Mill Subdivision


All Bell Graham Families who are interested in the Cub Scout program are welcome to attend. Please come out to see all that the Cub Scout Program has to offer.

Attendance Line

Absences should be called in by 7:45 AM if your child will be absent for any portion of the day. The number is 331-228-2100 and has voicemail. You can call during the evening or overnight and leave a message. Please leave your child’s name, their teachers name and the reason why your child is out. If they are ill, please indicate their symptoms.

From the Nurse

This year, In order to keep everyone safe, the district has required that we have an isolation room for students and staff that present with COVID-19 symptoms. This room is seperate from where kids are treated for daily health office needs. Even though it is called an isolation room the student will not be left unsupervised. It is a nice calming space for them to rest safely away from others until they can be picked up.


Due to the possibility of disease transmission through shared items, the Health Office has decided to temporarily suspend the practice of providing a change of clothes to students who need them. Please send an extra set of clothing (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) in a Ziplock bag, labeled with your child's name, to school on the first day. This bag will be stored in the classroom to be used in case of accidents or spills. If a student does not have an extra set of clothes to change into when necessary, parents will be called to come to school to provide them. Thank you for your understanding.


Please get your Health forms in! Kindergarten and new students to Illinois need Up to date immunization record and an Illinois Physical, Dental and Eye exam on file. All 2nd graders need a dental exam (done in last 18 months) on file.

Join The Orchestra!

Join The Orchestra!

Don't forget to sign your child up for Orchestra! In-person and remote students are welcome to participate. Students will participate in a weekly small-group lesson (in-person, or synchronous-remotely), along with a smaller group rehearsal. A high level of attention is being directed towards keeping students healthy and safe, while still allowing them to have fun while learning the violin, viola, cello, or bass.


If your child is new to orchestra, please join us for a Parent Information Meeting on Zoom! Choose the meeting that works best for you. Meet the D303 orchestra staff, and ask any additional questions you may have.

Chat
A live chat service is available for device and system support. This is the best way for families to receive fast technical support for district devices and services. The virtual IT team will be available to assist during normal business hours, but if you leave a message, support staff will follow up the next business day. Student Device Exchange Remote Learners:

For problems with a D303 issued device, a socially distanced exchange service is available at the main entrance of the Haines Center. It is recommended to troubleshoot via the above “Live -Chat” service before bringing in a device for exchange.
