3PEAT STATE CHAMPIONS
Chandler High defeated Perry, 65-28, Saturday night to capture its third straight 6A state football championship. The Wolves dominated on offense and defense. DeCarlos Brooks finished with 334 yards rushing on 33 carries and 6 touchdowns. Senior Jacob Conover became the first Arizona quarterback to lead a team to three state titles at the biggest level. Congratulations to Coach Aguano and his staff, the team, fans, band, AFJROTC, cheer, sports med, and parents for an incredible season and great win!
PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP FUN
Last Friday’s pep rally and lunchtime activities got the Wolves pumped up for Saturday’s game. One highlight included Chuck Altoff and Dave Nickell, 1949 CHS State Champions, being honored at the pep rally. Thanks to everyone who participated in the tailgate activities, including the dance party, barbeque, poster making and games, and thanks to StuCo for organizing!
TREBLEMAKERS PERFORM AT CAPITOL
The Treblemakers performed at the Capitol last week to help light the AZ State Capitol Christmas tree. The Treblemakers, pictured with Dr. Casteel and Ms. Lyford, wowed the crowd and even got air time on Fox 10 with their special version of “Livin’ in a ‘Zona Wonderland.”
GERMAN TEACHER RECOGNIZED
In conjunction with the annual convention of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages on November 17, 2018 in New Orleans, the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) recognized Chandler High School's German teacher, Melanie Mello, with the "Goethe Institut / AATG Certificate of Merit" for her outstanding contributions to the teaching and learning of German in the United States. Congratulations, Mrs. Mello!

THE ANGEL TREE IS UP!
CHS’s National Honor Society is sponsoring an “Angel Tree” to help make the holidays brighter for some Chandler High families. If you would like to be part of this special tradition, stop by the front office and choose an angel (or angels) from the tree. Gifts need to be purchased and delivered to CHS no later than Tuesday, December 11th. NHS will even do the wrapping! We love being part of such a generous community!

AFJROTC VISITS LUKE AFB
CHS’s AFJROTC recently toured Luke Air Force Base and got a good idea of what living on a base is like. Additionally, our cadets learned about many of the jobs available in the Air Force.
AVID FIELD TRIP
On Friday, November 30th, CHS Freshman AVID students attended a fieldtrip to Chandler Gilbert Community College. They were treated to raffle prizes, a tour of the campus, and a presentation about the programs and opportunities available at CGCC such as Dual Enrollment and the ACE program.
FCCLA COMMUNITY SERVICE
Chandler FCCLA worked the Angel Table and Gift Wrap Center with the Salvation Army this weekend. They loved the experience and will be picking their own angel to shop for. Great job, FCCLA!

Final exams are coming! Teachers will be giving review information in class and as homework over the next couple of weeks. In addition to that regular class work, if students follow these tips and dedicate 10 minutes to each tip, per class, per day, they are bound to set themselves up for success!

MAYOR’S TEEN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
Attached is a link to the webpage and application. Students are asked to fill out the application and submit a brief essay of 200 words or less. Applicants must be City of Chandler residents.
YEARBOOK, SENIOR PICS AND ADS
Seniors have until this Friday, December 7th, to go to the Lifetouch Website and select the senior photo to be placed in our 2018-19 Yearbook. Seniors should be able to make the selection online. If they do not have access to session ID and Access code, they can contact 800-736-4775 and they can assist them. After this Friday, Lifetouch will select the senior photo for submission
Senior Ads are still available to purchase. See the attached flyer for more information. The deadline to purchase a Senior Ad is January 31, 2019.
Yearbook prices are $65.00 and make a great gift during this holiday season! The price will increase on January 5, 2019.

THEATRE DEPARTMENT DINE OUT
CHS MINDFULNESS
The High School Health and Wellness program at CHS has been working on educating the students of Chandler High School about the dangers of vaping and trying to share other ways to deal with stress or anxiety instead of turning to vaping.
- Over 1,500 Chandler students attended an anti-vaping presentation at the Chandler Center for the Arts during Prevention week the last week in October.
- There are PowerPoints and videos posted on the High School Health and Wellness page on the school website
- Next semester, CHS will host TWO parent informational meetings about the dangers of vaping (one in English and one in Spanish). Exact dates to be announced in January.
- Anti-vaping posters have been hung up around campus.
- A student support group has been created that meets on Tuesdays to practice mindfulness and stress reduction to help them cope with anxiety and depression.
- If you would like more information about how to join the Tuesday Mindfulness group, please see Mrs. Hunter in the front office, or Mrs. Hobbs and Mrs. Baumann in the Student Services Department.

TAX CREDIT DONATION
Arizona law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married, filing Joint Return; $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Single or Head of Household; and, $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married filing separate return — for contributions that fund extracurricular activities in public schools. A tax credit is a full refund, not a deduction.
Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or the school district. To participate, follow the Tax Credit Donation link.

Adopt an angel from the Salvation Army Angel Trees, get a receipt for your donation and submit by January 15th to receive 1,000 points per angel!
You can submit your receipts online 24/7 at the school cents website. If you do not need your receipts returned, you can drop them in the CHS collection box located on the Upper Level bridge near Barnes & Noble, or you can bring them to Mrs. Claudio in the front office.
