Data in Small Groups!
Consider:
-How does turn and talk change the level of student engagement, as compared to asking one question to whole group and calling on a few students?
-What is the teacher doing while groups are working?
-What kinds of questions is the teacher asking and how does that impact student thinking?
NP3 Announcements Mateys!
For Teachers Only:
- Book Worm Round Table: Remember to read your "Multiple Pathways to the Student Brain" book! Remember to think about and choose the 3 chapters that are most applicable to your job and respond to the focus questions listed.
- Instructional Rounds: Please plan accordingly for instructional rounds, they are on your calendar (if you accepted the invite). Content areas will continue the same schedule as the past; one day of observations with a teacher partner and one period of debrief with the entire content. The first content area is English starting Wed Oct 21 and the second is math starting Wed Oct 28.
Duty and Presence: Please continue your amazing presence out and about on campus prior to your prep. Your presence makes a difference!
Website Questions: A new process is in place from the district for website support! Should you have questions or notice issues with your site, we are now being asked to use the "help desk." In addition...Allyson Parr is now the new website go to on site for quickie questions that don't need to go to the "help desk." Weehooo Parr!
CELDT: CELDT one-on-one testing will continue the next two weeks. Students for one-on-one testing will be called out of class as they have been. CELDT make-up group testing will continue next week. Edwards and Anzelc will keep you posted on the selected date/time. Thank you for your cooperation.
Infinite Campus Student and Parent Log-in: As an FYI for staff, parent log-ins to student information on Infinite are the same as student google log-ins. Log-ins can be obtained in two ways: parent can get it directly from the student, or they can come to NP3 in person and show ID to receive the log-in. Log-in information may not be given over the phone or email, etc. Thank you!
Booster Lunch: Yuuummmmmmm. Boosters are providing lunch for us via the Pizza company right after school! Oct 22nd.
Garbage Pick-Up: 10/20-Ounkeo & Michaelis, 10/21-Shifrine & Cassidy, 10/23-Kons & Pagan.
7th Only: Career Day is coming up! Nov 4th.
AICs: Save the date! They are scheduled for Monday Nov 9th. Let Taniia know where you will be located and at what times.
SBAC Parent Night: October 29th 5:45-6:45pm admin and counselors will be handing out SBAC scores to families and giving detailed info on what scores mean for families and how we address it as a school and in the classroom.

- Infinite Campus Log-in: Infinite Campus access is now available for students and families to view information on student academic progress. Please view further directions and information on the NP3 Middle website. https://natomasunified.org/np3m/parents/powerschool-for-parents/
Open Enrollment: It’s time for OPEN ENROLLMENT! NP3 Middle and NP3 High are currently accepting applications for the 2016 – 2017 school year. Our application period closes on November 20, until 4:00 PM. Middle School applications are available on – line at https://natomasunified.org/np3m/about-us/enrollment/ and https://natomasunified.org/np3h/ for the high school, or at the front office. The Office is open from 7:30 AM until 4:00 PM. Completed applications can be dropped off or faxed. Our fax number is 916-567-5749.
NP3 High Fun Fact: Did you know that NP3 HS has over 20 clubs available for students to join? They range from Art, Dance and Drama Clubs to Science, Technology, News and more! Check out NP3HIGH.COM for more information.
Booster Meeting: The next one is 10/19!
Raffle Sale: Student Government will selling raffle tickets to raise money. Each ticket is 50 cents and the raffle winners will win a $15 gift-card from Jamba Juice, Coldstone or In-N-Out.
Costume Day & Rally: Students are allowed to wear Halloween costumes on Friday October 30th. Students must still be appropriate for school and we must be able to see who the student is (no masks). There will be a rally at lunch put on by Student Government that involves a costume contest.
Yearbook Announcements: Yearbook prices until December are $22 for soft cover and $27 for a hard cover. There are more ordering options online, so please order online if you can! Forms went home last week! Yearbook forms/checks/cash should be given to Ms. Snelling or the Advisory teacher directly.
ACE Volleyball: Registration forms went home last week. Mr. Kons is now accepting registration and payment for volleyball, which starts October 26th and goes until December 18. Parents can contact Mr. Kons directly if they have further questions nkons@natomas.k12.ca.us.
SBAC Parent Night: On October 29th come join NP3 Middle School Administration and Counseling team to learn about your student’s SBAC scores. We will be handing out scores from 5:45-6:15, which will be followed by information about what the scores mean for your student and our school from 6:15-6:45. We will end the night with Q&A. We hope to see you there!
Clubs: Yearbook meetings start back up this week! And film club has an upcoming PG-13 movie, which means students need to have a signed permission slip in to Michaelis!
