Transitioning from Edline to EngradePro
EngradePro is the online gradebook and class organization system that has been adopted for use at St. Paul.
EngradePro has the ability to securely report individual student progress and grades for assignments, tests, quizzes, etc. EngradePro is a 21st century tool with added features that many other programs do not, including the security of online data backup and access. If your student or his/her teachers have communicated to you that they are using EngradePro, please use the access credentials provided by your student's teacher or school site to login below.

News from the Classroom
Third graders are using music to help review nouns, proper nouns, and pronouns. Each day they sing along to songs about nouns and then they practice finding them in sentences.
In science, we are learning about plants and their needs.
Finding the main idea is the focus in reading this week. Students watched a Brain Pop video that introduced finding the main idea and are using hot dots and a reading board game to practice finding the main idea.
In math, third graders are reviewing place value.
We are learning how God talks to us and how we can get to know God better in religion.
Happy new year! I'm excited to be back to school this year in the new art room! If you haven't been by to visit and take a look at the space, please do. It seems to offer more room and is truly a pleasure for the students and me.
Special thanks goes out to Chris Head, Kelly Block, and Angela Blain for making the move possible. It was hard to part with some of the stuff I've collected over the years but I have to admit, I felt a weight lift from me when I purged the room. And with a new room comes a fresh new attitude.
I do miss my neighbors across the hall and on the lower level so you may see me on the first floor from time to time kibitzing with the students. We have begun our new projects so the hallways will soon be decked out with the latest original creations.
Library & SPD
Welcome Back 2013-2014
We've had a wonderful first week of library and SPD classes! Each class had time to refresh their memories about the rules and expectations in classes.
Students started to check books out this week. Just so everyone is on the same page our checkout rules are:
PS/PK and K will be enjoying "story time" and learning about the materials in the library.
Classes in grades 1-8 will be able to check books out (1st grade will start at the first of September). Students may keep books for two weeks. If books are overdue a late slip/fees will go home with the student.
SPD classes have been "actively" moving while reviewing rules, formations, and signals. Classes are always ready to go in SPD!
STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR RUNNING SHOES ON SPD DAYS. This will help to avoid injuries and keep our gym floor scuff free.
Monday - 2nd, 3rd, 7th
Tuesday - PS, PK, 8th, 5th, 4th
Thursday - 1st
Friday - K, 6th
If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Look for some great things from Library and SPD classes this year!
Readers are Leaders and Movers are Groovers!!

Class Piano Lab
Have you ever thought of signing your children up for Piano Lessons?
Saint Paul and Anthony Ransom are considering starting a “Piano Music Lab” for children in groups of 8-10 students.
Many parents have inquired about private lessons and we think we just might have found the answer. The students will be in small groups with instruction by Anthony Ransom.
The lessons would be after school and available to parish, school and any student in the surrounding neighborhoods.
If you are interested in learning more about the “Piano Music Lab” or want to see this program get started please complete ask for a signup sheet and return to the Parish or School Office.
The younger students will be learning some technology basics such as, parts of a computer, the proper way to use a computer (computer rules), and what working online is. They will begin their EasyTech lessons (learning.com) next week.
