Each year in May, CCA holds an election for our Board of Directors. There will be 3 open positions. 2 of the requirements to be considered as a CCA Board member are:

1. Potential candidates must attend a minimum of two (2) regular CCA Board meetings during the nine (9) months prior to the April Board meeting. The February & March Board meetings are eligible meetings for this requirement.

2. Potential candidates must interview with at least one (1) current Board member prior to the nomination form submittal deadline.

For Random Acts of Kindness Week, we have lots of fun activities planned for the students and Kindergarten-8th grade will participate. For one of their kindness tasks, they will be making a kindness chain where they write their act of kindness on a strip of colorful paper and then attach it together to make a chain as a whole school. This chain will be displayed in the lobby along with sticky notes full of kind messages that the students will write at the start of the week.

Thursday will be International Dress Day for Global Kindness Day

The week will be full of fun and most importantly acts of kindness!

Peer Helpers would like to give the opportunity for Grades 5-8th to participate in a contest. The best submission will be awarded a prize!

Answering one of the following two questions, please electronically submit a poster, a writing, an interview, a video, a song, a doodle, an art piece, a slide show, a model, or even a cartoon to Mrs. Yamauchi (kyamauchi@cherrycreekacademy.org) or Mrs. MacFarland (mmacfarland@cherrycreekacademy.org).

The contest opens Monday, February 7th and closes at 5pm on Wednesday, February 16th. The winner will be announced Friday, February 18th during morning announcements.

At CCA School begins at 8 am. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:20 am to go to their classrooms and to get breakfast. Please arrive prior to 8:00 am so that your child can walk into the building, go to their locker and be ready in their classroom when class begins at 8:00 am. It is disruptive to have students coming in after class has started and students are missing valuable class time when they arrive late. Please help us begin our day in a positive way by having all children in class and ready to go. Thank you so much for your help with this.

Each year we do a graduation video featuring your child and we need your help collecting images for that video. Please fill out this short google form about your graduating 8th grader where you will submit 1 baby/toddler photo and 1 current photo of your student for the video. Thank you in advance for helping us celebrate your children!

New Colorado legislation has prompted greater need to screen and document volunteers in our schools. Therefore, beginning January 2022, we must ensure that every person entering CCA must have a CCA staff badge or a visitor badge printed from the Raptor System. Please be sure to have your identification on you so that you can share that with Ms. Sadie if you need to enter CCA. Using the raptor system Ms. Sadie will then print a Raptor ID badge for you.

CCSD is also requiring that every volunteer complete a brief application to support activities in CCSD schools. This application links directly to CCSD's raptor system.

We were so disappointed our Elementary Night with Cherry Creek Academy, Cottonwood, High Plains and Belleview got cancelled because of the snow day.

We are excited we received permission to invite all of the students to attend the February 18 game instead.

It will be a special night, because it is Senior night.

We will have drawings between quarters for signed Varsity posters.

COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11: The FDA and CDC have approved the Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. CCSD will host several vaccine clinics for families who choose to vaccinate their children. These clinics will offer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine doses, COVID-19 vaccines for those 12 years and older and COVID-19 vaccine boosters. Some clinics will also offer flu shots. COVID-19 testing: No-cost COVID-19 testing is available at the COVIDCheck Colorado testing site at the Instructional Support Facility, located at 5416 S. Riviera Way.
