Spotlight on Learning: PARCC Update for Grade 4 Parents

The PARCC test results will be released later this Fall for students in grade 4. The results will include a breakdown of your child's performance in categories within each subject. This will help you understand where your child needs additional practice or to be challenged by going deeper into a subject. Attached to this newsletter, you will find two documents that provide information for understanding the results in math and English/Language Arts.

Please Donate to the Food Drive

It’s that time of year again(hard to believe) for our annual Food Drive. So, on November 2nd we will start collecting canned goods and nonperishable foods. We have made a calendar for each classroom to keep tallies every day of the food brought in by the families. On November 20th we will come around to collect your colanders to get a school wide total! Then we will be donating the food to a local food banks, shelters, and/or needy families. Thank you for your support!!

PTO Update

We're in the home stretch for our Mixed Bag Designs Fundraiser and Square 1 Art Fundraiser!

There is still time to get some cool bags, and keepsake artwork while supporting Richmond Elementary School! We are so close to our goal but just need everyone to get in those orders and have full participation!

If you have already turned in your orders - THANKS! If not, please turn them in by Friday, November 13th and help us set a fundraising record! Let me know if you need another catalog or order form, I'll be happy to get it to you!

Thanks again for all the support!

Cup Stacking in PE

Some of the students at Richmond Elementary have participated in the WASSA (World Speed Stacking Association) cup stack Guiness Book of World Record Day. Each year, the WASSA hosts a day where they attempt to get as many people cup stacking on the same day in Multiple Places. A tally is sent in, they are added up, and if the total is greater than the year prior, than a new world record has been set. For the last two years that we have participated, new records have been set. Check out our pictures below!
