Washington School Mission Statement
At Washington Elementary School, we foster a student-centered community where all students are inspired to discover their own passions, accept and appreciate the differences in one another, and make reflective and responsible choices that will make the world a better place.
A note from the office
Starting April 19th, 43% of our students will be back in person for a full day of learning.
Thank you families for your flexibility with the schedules this school year. I am proud of the work our staff has done to continue to provide exceptional instruction during difficult times. It is only together with the support of our families that our staff is able to do their job so well.
If you should have any concerns or have changed your mind about your child's placement, please let me know at sandra.schlatter@edison.12.nj.us
Returning to in-person learning
Please remember the following expectations for in-person learning:
All visitors on school grounds MUST wear a mask. This includes at all arrival/dismissal locations and at the front door to pick up or drop off anything for the main office.
Face coverings which cover both the nose and mouth are required to be worn on the bus and inside the building.
Bring a water bottle to school. The drinking fountains are out of service.
Bring extra layers of clothing as the windows in the building are open.
Bring something warm to wear during physical education classes, as the gym windows are open and classes may go outside, weather permitting.
