Inside the Nucleus
An atom of germanium has precisely 32 protons and electrons with 41 neutrons. whether its melting at 938.25°C or boiling at 2833°C. at room tempurature, germanium is a solid, but is also located as a metalloid on the periodic table. it usually costs somewhere from $1.79 to $2 for a gram.
The Origin of the Name
Ekasilicon was the original name for germanium which was discovered by Dmitri Mendeleev until it was changed to germanium after winkler's country.
Interesting Uses of Germanium
Germanium is used in a wide variety of ways such as gamma radiation detecters, alloying agents, phosphor in fluorescent lamps, and it acts as a catalyst.
