Hybrid Learner's School Pictures Schedule
Important: Calendar Schedule Exception Days
Some weeks with a day off this year, such as Columbus Day, will have school in person at school on the Wednesday of that week. This day is a schedule exception and students do not follow the regular Wednesday mini schedule but instead follow the schedule in person at school for the Letter and Number in the Rotation. For example: If the day is A1, all students follow the A day schedule. Hybrid Group 1 students attend school and Remote students remotely attend periods 1, 3, 5, & 7. The days when this will happen at Schroeder at:
10/7/2020, 10/14/2020, 1/20/2021, 1/27/2021, 6/2/2021
Secondary Remote Learners
1.) Schedule:
This rotational calendar will be very important! Students follow the schedule for the letter day on the rotation calendar. On days with a 1 in the rotation (A1, B1, C1, D1) students will login for live instruction for their odd period classes (periods 1, 3, 5, 7). The "off" periods that day (2, 4, 6, 8) will be opportunities to meet with teachers for "Office Hours" (no new instruction).
On days with a 2 in the rotation (A2, B2, C2, D2) students will login for live instruction for their even period classes (periods 2, 4, 6, 8). The "off" periods that day (1, 3, 5, 7) will be opportunities to meet with teachers for "Office Hour" (no new instruction).
The Mini Schedule on Wednesdays- students will follow the mini schedule (11:00-2:55) for the letter day on the calendar, meeting each class for 25 minutes.

Equity Education at Schroeder
This past week the Schroeder faculty worked with an antiracist curriculum inquiry task to examine housing segregation in Rochester and its roots in redlining and restrictive covenants. The curriculum was designed through a collaboration between the PathStone Foundation, a not-for-profit which aims to make housing affordable to all, and two area educators: Kellie McNair (Long Ridge Elementary Principal) and Shane Wiegand (Rush-Henrietta 4th Grade Teacher).
Shane Wiegand is a Class of 2007 Schroeder graduate. He will be returning to Schroeder next month to help teachers continue to examine the historical policies that influence racial inequities today. In addition to his work with the faculty on a whole, Shane will be an ongoing consultant for twelve grade social studies teachers at Schroeder who are piloting the anti-racist curriculum with classes beginning this fall.

Symptoms Associated with COVID-19??
Dear Student or Parent/Guardian,
With guidance from the Monroe County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) and our district physician, we are unable to allow anyone with symptoms associated with COVID-19 to attend school.
Contact your child’s primary healthcare provider, share the symptoms we have described and schedule an appointment for an evaluation and COVID-19 testing. In order to return to school, students must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Remain fever-free (<100℉) for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and exhibit improvement of symptoms
Provide a written medical evaluation clearance from a healthcare provider
Provide a negative COVID-19 testing lab result
If your child’s testing result is positive, your child will be placed under mandatory isolation orders by the MCDPH. Please notify your building principal immediately if your child tests positive. Other members of the household will most likely be placed on a mandatory 14 day quarantine period by the MCDPH. Students are not permitted to return to school until released from isolation or quarantine by the MCDPH.
While sick, your child should stay home, get plenty of rest and stay hydrated. Your child should try to avoid being around other people to stop the spread of this infection in case they do have COVID-19. Continue to monitor your child’s symptoms and stay in communication with your child’s healthcare provider as directed.
Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If, however, any of the following rare severe symptoms develop, call 911 for immediate assistance:
Trouble breathing
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
New confusion
Inability to wake or stay awake
Bluish lips or face
For more information about COVID-19, follow the CDC guidelines for “If You are Sick or Caring for Someone” at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/index.html.
Your Primary Care Provider should always be your first point of contact regarding a medical evaluation and COVID-19 testing. If your provider’s office cannot accommodate your needs, several local Urgent Care centers provide evaluation and testing. Go to the NYS DOH webpage “Find A Test Site Near You” at https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you.
