Principal's Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
This week we had a wonderful PTO meeting. This virtual meeting was on Tuesday evening and since the format was remote, we had many people attend who might not otherwise be able to participate. I am grateful to our PTO board who always think about making their meeting and family activities accessible and inclusive for our community.
At our meeting I shared the video linked below. This video highlights the work of our Silver Creek Feeder System. Of course, I am super proud of our students and staff here at Eagle Crest, but I am also excited by the work we do as a system to align our supports, academic and leadership focus areas, and extension and enrichment opportunities for students. When I answer the phone here at school, I always say, “It’s a great day to be an eagle!” It’s a joy to follow that up with, “It’s a great day to be growing up Silver Creek!”
I hope that you enjoy the video and that you have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Amanda

Dean of Students' Message
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
Besides this newsletter, we also rely on Infinite Campus to push out information to families. This includes important messages about weather and Indoor Arrival, event reminders, or other school-wide announcements. You can check and manage your settings in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal app. These are available in both the iPhone and Google Play stores.
Accessing Your Account:
Accounts are typically associated with your email address. You can always try the "Reset Password" button or contact Dinah Sherwood (sherwood_dinah@svvsd.org) in our front office to check your account information and reset your password.
Changing Contact Preferences:
Once you have access to your account, you will navigate to "Settings" and "Contact Preferences". In that section, you will have the opportunity to confirm the accuracy of your phone and email contacts, as well as your "Message Preferences". We suggest turning on Voice and SMS. See photo below.
What types of messages are sent?:
- Emergency: Used for immediate communication from the district – weather related school closures, school safety procedures related to the Standard Response Protocol (SRP).
- General Notification: Sent from school or district for general announcements that have no time constraint – parent teacher conference reminder, school event, Superintendent Update, etc.
- Priority Notification: Sent by the school or district for time sensitive information that needs to go out in the next 24 hours – event cancellations.
- Teacher: Sent by teachers – missing assignment, failing grades and general classroom information.
If you would like more detailed step-by-step directions or more information, please visit our district information page for Messenger.
Feel free to reach out to us if you need support using the Parent Portal app. This app will become an essential tool as your child moves into middle and high school. Next week, I will share more information about how to access your child's first trimester report card through the Parent Portal app.
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney

School Volunteer Training and Update
We are excited to welcome volunteers back into our building this school year. Family volunteers are a part of the rich tradition in our community focused school, and we are eager to have volunteers back in a safe and supportive way.
Our whole staff has been involved in discussions about how to involve families in meaningful ways that support student learning and help to lighten the load for teachers. This year, we will be offering volunteer training. This training will be required for adults who would like to volunteer in our classrooms. It will be an opportunity for us to review safety protocols, confidentiality expectations, and some of the routines and procedures in place to help everything run smoothly.
We have two dates remaining (see below) scheduled for this Fall, and we will have some additional dates available in the Spring.
November 4th - 9:15am - ECES Library
November 10th - 6:00pm - Webex Link (Password: Jpd57sWjBe9)
Classroom teachers will begin reaching out with their volunteer needs through their regular newsletters. When we have opportunities to help in the library, Specials classes, or other areas of the school we will share those opportunities in this weekly newsletter.

Job Opportunity - New Campus Supervisor Position
The safety of our school environments has always been a top priority in St. Vrain Valley Schools. As the district continues to invest in security upgrades, mental health resources, counselors, and other supports to ensure the well-being and success of our students, we are excited to share that a new Campus Supervisor position will be provided to all elementary schools in the district.
Currently at all middle and high schools in St. Vrain, Campus Supervisors promote safe and secure learning environments for students by providing an additional layer of facility monitoring, oversight, and communication regarding any potential risks or safety concerns. These roles also play an important part in fostering a positive building environment by building relationships with students and serving as another trusted adult in the building.
If you or someone you know is interested in applying for one of these 26 new positions, a job description and application can be accessed starting Monday, October 31 at https://www.applitrack.com/stvrain/onlineapp/default.aspx?Category=Security.
Job Opportunity - Preschool Paraeducator
We have an opening for a Preschool Paraeducator in our wonderful Pre-K classroom. This could be a perfect fit for a parent or family member looking to work the same hours as their child’s schedule at school. We are looking for a thoughtful, kind, caring adult, who has a lot of patience, a heart for small children, and a commitment to public education. If this sounds like you, please reach out and check out the job posting on the SVVSD website!

Job Opportunity - Guest Teacher
A Guest, or Substitute Teacher, teaches and supervises students in the event that their regular teacher is unable to lead class. Our Guest Teachers enjoy working within a positive culture among a group of passionate and caring professionals who are all working to support student success. If you are interested in joining one of the most highly effective and supportive teams of professionals in the country, please apply using the link below and look for the "Substitute Teaching" vacancy to start your application.
Lunch Menu & Color Day Schedule
See below for the November Lunch & Specials schedule!
Our Music, PE, and Art classes are on a 3 day rotation. Every school day is either a Red, Gold, or Purple day. These colors are shared on our school lunch menu to help families plan ahead for necessary supplies like sneakers for PE.
Add Money to your Child’s School Breakfast & Lunch Account
MySchoolBucks is the website you want to access in order to add funds to your child’s account for purchasing breakfast, lunch, or milk at school. This system will send you reminders and can manage the account of multiple students. Money can also be sent to school by check or cash. Please label any checks or cash with the students first name, last name, and teacher.
If you haven’t yet, you can apply for Free & Reduced meals to see if your family qualifies for free meals. Applying for Free & Reduced lunch will help manage fees (like iPad Insurance or sports) and also helps our school receive additional funds and services. We encourage all families to complete the application.
