As we began our second semester of the school year this week, we are planning for the return of students to Little Mountain Elementary. The Mount Vernon School District is adopting a very safe and cautious approach to having students on our elementary campuses. We will start first with a hybrid learning experience for our Kindergarten and First Grade students. They will be attending school in person for either an AM or PM session, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. The purpose of a morning or afternoon session is to keep class sizes smaller to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Students will engage in asynchronous learning at home for the other half of their day. Wednesdays will continue to have a 9:00 AM Zoom meeting with asynchronous tasks to allow for deep cleaning of our building.

While we remain optimistic about returning to in-person learning for all of our grades, we will be doing this in the safest manner. Continue to look for updates from the School District and from us regarding the district's plan to add more grade levels. As always, please contact me with questions and concerns.

My Best,

Susan Husband
