Together WE can Close the Achievement Gap
One way GIA focuses on closing the achievement gap for all of its scholars, particularly the scholars who are most behind, is to equip parents with strategies to employ at home. When parents are committed and involved in the education of their children, their children perform well in school.
READ! READ! READ!
Parents please ensure that your scholars are reading for 30 minutes per day; be certain to check for comprehension and understanding. NewsELA, Common-Lit, Read-Works, and Read-Theory are great reading resources.
Six Flags READ TO SUCCEED Program
Read to Succeed is an exciting program that encourages scholars in grades K through 6 to read for fun.
Scholars who complete six hours of RECREATIONAL READING can earn a free ticket to Six Flags!
Personalized reading logs will be going home with scholars this week. Please be on the look out for them.
Pizza Hut BOOK IT Program
Pizza Hut's BOOK IT! program! is a fun and yummy way to encourage GIA scholars in grades K-6 to read more.
BOOK IT! motivates children to read by rewarding their reading accomplishments with praise, recognition, and pizza.
Your scholar's teacher will provide details on how the Book It program will be utilized in his or her classroom.
Handle Our Devices With Care!!!
Pursuant to the Parent Commitment Contract which all parents signed at registration, parents are responsible for the costs of any missing or damaged books, computers, or other materials assigned to their scholar by Genesis Innovation Academy.
