Lawrence Brook Weekly Update

Learn about the exciting news and events happening at LB!

December 19, 2022

Dear Lawrence Brook Elementary School Families:

Welcome to my final newsletter of 2022! On behalf of the staff, I would like to wish all of our Lawrence Brook Families a wonderful Winter Break and a very happy New Year! We look forward to another year full of learning, kindness, and teamwork at Lawrence Brook School.

Our Winter Class Parties are scheduled for Friday, December 23. The PTA is coordinating volunteers for each class. Please reach out to your child's teacher or the Point Parent with any questions. Please note that December 23 is also an early dismissal day with school ending at 1:35 PM.

Looking ahead to next year, we are excited to launch our One School One Book Program made possible by the Lawrence Brook PTA. On January 6, 2023, all students will participate in a special assembly where we will announce our chosen book. Then, each student will be sent home with his/her own copy! Along with a copy of the book, students will receive some great resources to support positive reading habits at home, including a link to a Lawrence Brook One School One Book website featuring teacher read alouds of each chapter, a recommended reading schedule, and a few other surprises. In school, students will participate in daily trivia and discussion questions and a few activities with their buddy classes. The program will culminate with a special Family Fun Night hosted by our PTA the evening of Friday, January 27, 2023. Stay tuned for more information--we can't wait to start this valuable and engaging program.

Please note that Lawrence Brook will be closed December 26 through December 30. We will welcome students back to school on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Have a wonderful week and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Dunn

Principal
