A Message from our Superintendent
May 18, 2020
Greetings, Galena Park I.S.D. Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds each of you and your loved ones enjoying continued good health and abundant blessings. In GPISD, we are wrapping up the school year and celebrating every victory in our path! I hope you are doing the same in your homes.
I am very much looking forward to celebrating the Class of 2020 on May 31 with the CTE ECHS, GPHS, and NSSH virtual graduation ceremonies. While it is not the way we envisioned commemorating this milestone, our graduates deserve our congratulations and well wishes as they complete their high school coursework and progress to the next chapter in their lives. We are keeping our fingers crossed we are allowed to hold our traditional graduation ceremonies on August 2, but until then, we will celebrate the Class of 2020 for their achievements the best way we can. I must say, seeing the Class of 2020 yard signs in the front yards of homes throughout our community has warmed my heart and made me so very proud of our soon-to-be graduates.
I appreciate your support and patience throughout the entire school year, and especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward with great excitement and anticipation to the day we can all gather safely again.
Best wishes to you and your loved ones,
Angi Williams, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
GPISD Board of Trustees Affirm Employment of Dr. John Moore as Superintendent of Schools
Heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Williams for her effective and loving leadership of Galena Park I.S.D. as Superintendent for the past nine years, as well as for her service to the children and families of GPISD for thirty-five years.
Congratulations to Dr. Moore as he embarks on this exciting new chapter as the leader of Galena Park I.S.D.!

participate in the Census Survey!
The census is an enumeration, or an actual count, of the people in the United States to ensure fair representation.
Did you know the Census has only nine questions? The survey takes only 5-10 minutes to complete. It's easy!
You can do your part for the 2020 Census by completing the survey.
Prioritize Self-Care
Perhaps most of all, let this thought guide you: Who we are now is laying the foundation for who we will become when this crisis runs its course, both for us as individuals, for our loved ones, and for our culture. Kindness is perhaps the most worthy gift we can give to others, and right now, it is what we need to show ourselves.
It has been said that one cannot pour from an empty vessel, so please, remember to take a few moments every day to engage in self-care so that you can be better equipped to take care of others.
Congratulations to the Business Services Department!
Galena Park I.S.D. was recently awarded The Association of School Business Officials International's (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE)!
ASBO International’s COE recognizes districts that have met the program’s high standards for financial reporting and transparency. GPISD earned the Certificate of Excellence for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended 2019.
