Anasazi (Ancestors of Pueblo)
- Made canals and ditches to trap rain from tops of mesa and channel to save the gardens.
- Houses were made of stone, had lots of stories. (Apartment like)
- They built roads.
- Probably left because of all the droughts.
Adena (Eastern Woodlands People)
- Lived in the Ohio valley region.
- They grew lots of stuff like barley, sunflowers, gourds, and squash.
- They made beautiful jewelry and pottery.
Hopewell (Eastern Woodlands People)
- Went to the Ohio valley around 300 BC.
- Built tall mounds.
- A extensive trade network.
- Both of the eastern woodlands people (Adena and Hopewell) are referenced to the mound builders.
Mississippians
- Arrived in Mississippi in about 800 AD.
- Had a lot of food.
- More population caused to have more land.
- More land means more cites.
