SCHOOL NEWS
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The staff at Monte Vista wishes all of our families a holiday season full of fun, cheer and precious memories!
Show some holiday cheer by dressing up each day for our last week of school! See all of the details on this flier.
Due to the increase of COVID cases, we are requesting that students be tested prior to returning to school in January to help us keep our community safe. Test kits are available for pick up at the front office Tuesday-Thursday, from 8:00-4:00.
This year only, Monte Vista is offering free after school enrichment classes which will be funded by a grant that Monte Vista has received. ONE FREE class session will be available for each of our students in either the winter or the spring session. Each student may only participate in one class so that every student at Monte Vista has the opportunity to participate in a class during this school year. The winter session sign-ups are open now and the classes begin the week of January 15, 2022. Please remember to only sign your child up for ONE class. If classes become full and your child is not able to sign up for this session, they will be guaranteed a spot during the spring session. Here is more information on the classes along with the sign-up information.
CV students of the Voice of Calling Club will be offering a free online Coding Camp where they will teach students to use the Scratch program. Please see this flier for further information.
The GUSD Invention Convention is returning this year! This exciting event provides a forum for GATE students in grades 4-8 to display their inventiveness. It will take place on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm in the Glendale High School Cafeteria. More information on requirements and how to register was sent to GATE families through Parent Square. If you have any questions, please contact our Teacher Specialist, Jessica Isco at jisco@gusd.net
