"Behind every child's face is a story that needs to be heard, appreciated, respected, valued, and in some cases, shared. Educators who champion for students have a sincere desire to create positive experiences for their students and others that will motivate and inspire them to be the change our schools and communities need!"

Audit Reminders!
- Balance your account every month with the district statement. Copies are put in your staff mailbox the first week of every month. If you're out of balance, schedule a meeting with Lori to help get things in order. (E-mail or send a calendar invite.)
- This is not an audit year, however, unannounced spot checks are likely! Audit staff can come at any time and ask to see your documentation. Have your ledger up-to-date, your deposits and purchases in your binder, and your fundraising approval & reports as well.
- Request your change funds two weeks in advance of the day you need it.
- Pre-plan your purchases. Expense reimbursements should not be asked for from Home Depot, H-E-B, Hobby Lobby, Sam's, or any other Big 8 vendor. Getting a P.O. is not instantaneous. For various reasons, it takes time. Plan ahead.
- Plan for time into your fundraising event to account for purchasing and billing. Things do not happen overnight. In a district as large as ours, at least two weeks is a good rule of thumb for things to get wrapped up.
Congratulations Maria Hughes!
