SUMMER SCHOOL 2016

I am proud to announce that Kerrie Barree will serve as the SUMMER PRINCIPAL at Adamson High School. She is well qualified and I have full confidence that she will do a great job with our high school scholars. Joining Adamson students will be students from Pinkston and Roosevelt.

In preparation for our SUMMER READINESS program that will serve elementary and middle school students, please begin to look at the progress of your students. Students who are in danger of being retained should be identified and parents should be communicated with now. Additional details will follow.

Should you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Hill.

THE PRINCIPAL 50

Critical Leadership Questions for Inspiring Schoolwide Excellence

Chapter 7: Planning, Organization, and Time Management

QUESTION: Do I plan each day thoroughly while adhering to my own written plan of action for student success?

Aurthor Kafele tells us that we MUST PLAN FOR EXCELLENCE on a daily basis. Just as teachers are to develop lesson plans to guide their work, leaders must create and adhere to a plan of daily activities.

LEADERS WHO PLAN ARE MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THOSE WHO DON'T.

My charge to you is to think about what you want your day/week to look like and write down a plan of action that details how you will spend your time at work. Of course, you must prioritize and be ready to respond to the many distractions that will come your way!

Here's to a great week of teaching and learning!

The next round of PD for K-2 reading teachers will be April 11, 13, 14. I will check to see how this will be adjusted based on the change in school days (inclement weather day)

Professional Development for 3-5 grade reading cadre members will be on April 7.

A Note From Your Executive Director...

    Team,

Round one of state testing is behind us. While everyone was able to take a brief sigh of relief, we know that there is still work to be done. Ensure that you are keeping a watchful eye on the quality of instruction that is happening in your buildings. Keep your expectations high and support teachers to excellence! Our instructional time remaining with our students must be spent on what matters most--the leverage points set out in your campus improvement plans. Stay true to your goals, measure your progress frequently and continue to celebrate the small wins along the way.

I am here to support you.

Here's to a great week of teaching and learning!

    Ms. Hill

    TEI TIMELINES AND PROGRESS

The latest TEI NEWS FOR PRINCIPALS email was very informative as it outlined all of the requirements needed in order to complete teacher extended observations. I also emailed this document to you along with your latest SPOT observation progress. Please take the time to read and internalize the information so that you can be on track to meet all TEI deadlines.

Student surveys will be administered the week of April 11-15.

In May, teachers will verify their rosters in order to verify the students will be included in the calculation of their student achievement results.

MAY 19th is the last day that administrators can score the SLO Goal Accomplishment for teachers. Please plan with your teachers to ensure that they enter appropriate information in a timely manner so that this goal can be met.

MAY 19th is also the last day to enter extended observations and summatives in schoolnet.

May 23-June 6 will be the teacher rebuttal window in oracle for summative performance evaluations.

June 2 is the last day to conduct spot observations and the last day to hold the summative conferences.
