The Weekly Roar
April 16, 2018
LIVE HISTORY MUSEUM!
*****CHANGE IN DUE DATE! I have to be at a training on the 17th, so the new due date is May 10th.
We had a work day a few weeks ago, and we will have a few more work days, but as the letter states, most of the work should be done outside of class.
WORK DAY, WORK DAY, WORK DAY!
Quite a few students were able to sit and print pictures with me, and I typed up facts for those that were ready, and got those printed as well last week. Please have your student take advantage of these work days! Even if they are printing pictures at home, there is work for them to do while at school. They can write their speech and begin memorizing it, they can make their activation button, and they can plan out what they are going to wear. If anything needs to be made, they are welcome to use any supplies that I have in my art closet to make it.

Turn off the screen, go climb a tree, get dirt on their hands." The students will be writing an essay about remaining a kid as long as they can and what that looks like for them.
Reading:
- We will continue to work on summarizing using GIST and checking our comprehension by using Author’s Portrait.
- We will continue to practice our choral reading. This is a great way to help with fluency. We read a paragraph together out loud as a class at a pace that I set. The more we practice this, the faster we will get and the more fluent we will become.
- Your child should continue reading or be read to nightly for 20 minutes and then getting their reading log initialed.
- We will continue our novel study on, Old Yeller.
