Stories of Service: Serve Arden Arcade
On April 11th-16th, 20 young people from Christ Community Church partnered with Serve Partnerships Unlimited and the Spanish speaking Inglesia Cristiana Emmanuela for a Local Missions Week in the Arden Arcade area. During the week, the team hosted a Family Fun Day and BBQ that was free to the community and had over 200 individuals in attendance. The team also accomplished a major two day painting project of a home and a beautification project of a community garden area that is a partnership of Elinore Hickey School. The team learned how to love and serve cross-culturally, build new friendships and live out their faith in tangible ways. A huge thank you to all involved for sharing the love of Jesus in beautiful ways during Holy Week!
April 26th: Sacramento Day of Hope
The Sacramento Day of Hope is a collaborative effort between local churches, businesses, social service agencies and local government to provide food for the hungry and relief for people in crisis. The next Day of Hope will be at Luther Burbank High School and will provide children and families in the surrounding area with free groceries, heath screenings, job fairs, haircuts, clothes, family portraits, games and activities for children and much more! Hundreds of volunteers are still needed to serve the 1800 students and their families on this day! If you would like to help share God's love by meeting tangible needs, sign up to volunteer here!
Please join us this Wednesday, April 23rd at Suite 2:10 (2830 G Street, Sacramento) as we hear from panelists about the issue of Illiteracy/Drop Outs and how we can work towards creating opportunity for children through School and Church Partnerships. Street parking is available. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are provided!
