Nazareth Protestant Community
March 17, 2016
Hope you've all had a restful break and are fully back into the swing of the semester!
My spring break led me to Earleville, MD with a group of 8 students, to Clairvaux farm. It was an amazing week of service, playing with cute kiddos on the farm, exploring Washington D.C., campfires, ice cream, laughter, and reflection on homelessness and poverty. As always, I learned things about myself and about others. I gained some new perspectives on issues that affect too many people. We were challenged to consider how the work of Deep Roots at Clairvaux farm is empowering families who are facing homelessness to begin the hard work of starting over again--with support, love, and a safe place to stay.
I wish you all could have been there with us that week, and encourage you to consider how you might spend your next spring break. (I know, I know...we just finished this one). It's never too early to think about the ways your faith can lead you into action.
This week at worship, due to epic illness (the flu is an abomination), we will be doing a hymn sing. Come ready to sing your favorite hymns and praise songs!
Hope you see you there!
Blessings,
Nadia

Prayer, Reflection, and Exploration
What if you fasted collecting praise in order to un-clutter your generation's view of Jesus? What if you fasted avoidance mechanisms that surface when you face the unknown? Study Jesus’ call to abandon the world’s illusions, embrace His kingdom’s reality, and journey cross-ward and beyond. By Alicia Britt Chole.
